Summary
This document aims at describing the installation / deployment procedures of the Flysmart+ for
iPad Apps V5.0 and all subsequent minor versions.

iPad Apps V5.0 and all subsequent minor versions.

Name and Version
This Installation Guide is applicable to the Flysmart+ for iPad Apps V5.0 and all subsequent
minor versions.
In the Installation Guide, the following simplified naming is used:
• Flysmart+ for iPad Apps ➔ Flysmart+ Apps
• Flysmart+ for iPad Gateway ➔ Gateway
Delivery of the Flysmart+ Apps
Flysmart+ Apps are exclusively delivered through the AppStore.

3. LOGISTIC PREREQUISITES
Hardware compatibility
The Flysmart+ Apps are compatible with iPad devices only.
Compatible devices are listed below:
• iPad Air 2
• iPad Air 3 (10.5”)
• iPad 5th generation
• iPad 6th generation
• iPad 7th generation
• iPad Pro 9.7”
• iPad Pro 10.5”
• iPad Pro 11”
• iPad Pro 12.9”
Note 2
The Flysmart+ Apps are not compatible with iPads older than the ones listed above.
Note 3
The Flysmart+ Apps are not available on and not compatible with iPhone devices.
Note 4
The Flysmart+ Apps may be displayed on 7.9” iPad devices.
However, the display on this device size does not comply with the Operational and Human Factors
requirements and thus use has not been validated on these devices.
Software compatibility
The Flysmart+ Apps are tested compatible with:
• iOS 12.4.1
• iPadOS 13.5.x
WARNING 1
iOS / iPadOS compatibility depends on the version of Flysmart+ Apps installed as well
as with the associated Gateway version.
WARNING 2
Always make sure that the installed iOS / iPadOS is compatible with the current set of
Flysmart+ Apps.
Recommendation 1
NAVBLUE recommends to ALWAYS use the latest up to date Flysmart+ Apps and Gateway.

Installation of the Apps
The Flysmart+ Apps can be downloaded for free on the AppStore.
Search for “Flysmart+” to find the following:

The App has never been retrieved with the AppStore Account used on the iPad.
Tap on GET to request and install the App on the device.
The App has already been retrieved with the AppStore Account used on the iPad,
but the App is not installed on the device.
Tap the CLOUD icon to install the App on the device.
The App is already installed on the device.
Tap OPEN to access the App from the device.

Recommended iPad Settings
The following chapter provides recommendations in order to guarantee the correct usage and
display of the Flysmart+ Apps on the iPad devices.
Recommendation 2
Since iOS 12, NAVBLUE recommends turning OFF the automatic Software Update check in
General / Software Update / Automatic Updates.
Recommendation 3
NAVBLUE recommends disabling the Handoff feature for the iPad, in iPad Settings / General /
Handoff.
Recommendation 4
NAVBLUE recommends keeping the default font size of the iPad (100%), in iPad Settings / Display
& Brightness / Text Size.
Recommendation 5
NAVBLUE recommends disabling the auto-lock feature of the iPad, in iPad Settings / Display &
Brightness / Auto-Lock.
Recommendation 6
NAVBLUE recommends disabling the automatic update check for all the Apps, iPad Settings /
iTunes & App Store / AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS / Apps and AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS /
Updates.
