ruled over us for 200 years!

President 2022-23. This is a remarkable moment
as she would be the First Woman President in

My Rotaract Journey began in 2017, as an active member of
the Rotaract Club of BMS College of Engineering. It was
then that I realised I was a part of a lovely family. Rotaract
completely changed me as a person. I owe it to Rotaract for
my immense personal growth. Our motto of "Spreading
Smiles across Miles" has been motivating me in every step
of my life.
To be able to contribute to the District, which is so close to
my heart, in my own small way is a pleasure. It was an

FIRST WOMAN RI PRESIDENT NOMINEE
On August 6, 2020, history was made.
Jennifer E. Jones, a member of the Rotary Club of
Windsor-Roseland, Ontario, Canada, has been
nominated to become Rotary International’s president
for 2022-23, a groundbreaking selection that will make
her the first woman to hold that office in the
organization’s 115-year history.
She will officially become President-nominee on 1st
October if no other candidates challenge her.
She has been a Rotary member since 1997 and has Rtn. Jennifer E. Jones
served Rotary as RI Vice President, Director, Training
Leader, Committee Chair, Moderator, and District
Governor. She played a lead role in Rotary’s rebranding
effort by serving as chair of the Strengthening Rotary’s
Advisory Group. She is the Co-chair of the End Polio
Now Countdown to History Campaign Committee,
which aims to raise $150 million for polio eradication
efforts.
She also recently led the successful #RotaryResponds
telethon, which raised critical funds for COVID-19 relief
and was viewed by more than 65,000 and has also
received Rotary International’s Service Above Self
Award and The Rotary Foundation Citation for
Meritorious Service.
A historical moment indeed, which is sure to inspire
several others across the globe in taking steps towards
the betterment of the society.

ORIENTATION AND BRIEFING SESSION OF CLUB
REPRESENTATIVES
ROTARACT 3190 HASIRU COMMITTEE
On 9th August, 2020, in a Zoom meeting, all the dignitaries and Club
representatives were welcomed by Rtr. Vipin. DRR. Rtr. Raj Vamshi was
introduced by Hasiru Committee Zonal Coordinator IPP Rtr. Nagarjuna, followed
by which DRR. Rtr. Raj Vamshi briefed the gathering on the vision for the
committee.
Rtr. Manjunath Nag introduced the Hasiru Committee Core team of RID 3190.
The official Hasiru Committee Badges were released. Each of the Club
Representatives were officially announced as the Green Ambassadors of RID
3190. After a brief introduction, the Green Ambassadors were then briefed on
their Roles and Responsibilities and the reporting structure of future projects by
Rtr. Giselle.
Rtr. Majunath Nag then explained various eco-friendly activities and projects
undertaken by the committee. A round of Q&A took place where the attendees
addressed various queries. Rtr. Tarun U, President of RC Vidyaranyapura then
announced the release of Project Every Chaturthi for Prakruthi, the Clay
Ganesha making workshop. Rtr. Giselle then proposed the Vote of Thanks.

TRAIN THE TRAINER SESSION
WinS COMMITTEE
WinS(WASH in School) is one of the programme which focuses mainly on
WATER, SANITATION & HYGIENE IN SCHOOL. Our first step this year was
Train The Trainer session conducted on 4th August, 2020 by PDG Rtn Nagendra
KS, where our fellow Rotaractors and our WinS representatives from Rotaract
District 3190 were provided with information about Wash in School, focusing on
how we as young Rotaractors can reach out to our community and train the

We had over 150 attendees. We got insights from PP Rtn Anil Kumar, Sanitation,
and WinS Chair of Rotary District 3190 for RY 2020-21 and Rtn Thirumurugan,

support from our DRR. Rtr. Raj Vamshi and YSD Rtn. Krishna Mariyanka who
shared their experience and insights with our fellow Rotaractors.
The session taught us about the importance of WinS, expectations from the
facilitators, school kit, program preparation, essential elements of WinS, and
more. Rotaract WinS Committee also released their second poster which talks
about Corona Virus Prevention, ‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of
cure.’ We look forward to accomplish our plans along with the support of
everyone.

ROTALIZATION
DISTRICT INTERNATIONAL SERVICES AVENUE
The first event, “ROTALIZATION”, organized by Rotaract District International
Services Avenue for Club International Service Directors was held on 2-8-2020.
The event kicked off with the introduction of Club International Service
Directors followed by the District International Service Team. A brief
introduction on International Service was given by DRR. Rtr. Raj Vamshi. The
attendees were also briefed about the naming of the zones.
Experiences in IDYE and the advantages of being an International Service
Director were shared by other members. An Avenue quiz regarding Rotaract and
Rotary was conducted. Fun ice breaking activities were organized by Club
service.
The floor was then open for announcements regarding E-IDYE and South
Cultural Exchange, and also for a few general announcements and discussions.

Our First community service project was concluded successfully on the topic

The mental health awareness session gave an insight on what mental health
actually means and highlighted that mental health is as important as physical
health. The session answered how we could effectively tackle various mental
health related issues.
The speaker mentioned that today's youth needs to focus upon keeping cool, calm
and composed during the pandemic and also highlighted some best, easy practices
& habits that one needs to inculcate in their daily lives.
The speaker answered all the questions posed by our Rotaractors very patiently
