SELECT CITY WALK @ SAKET, DELHI


Select Citywalk is a premier shopping mall located in the Saket District Centre in
Saket , New Delhi .The retail development is spread over and includes a multiplex,
serviced apartments, offices and public spaces.The mall was developed by Select
Infrastructure, a joint venture between the Select group and the Aarone group.
Select Citywalk is a 1.3 million sq. ft. air-conditioned, vibrant and upscale destination
shopping center. This is a part of an overall complex of 54 acres that comprises of
three floors of office space, India’s first Six-Screen, two Gold Class and four Premier
Class PVR Cinemas, and approx. 1 lakh sq. ft. of Serviced Apartments.
Select CITYWALK also blends tradition and modernity in a seamless way with its
events and celebrations.

FEATURES OF THE BUILDING:

The mall is divided into three broad zones: Staple Traditional (family), Celebration
(centre- stage) and High Voltage (youth). There are eight anchor tenants including
Good earth Verandah, Pantaloons, Crossword Bookstore, Mother care, Arcelia, and
Home Stop. The mall also has 125 stores representing over 500 major Indian and
international brands of clothes and apparels including Aldo, Calvin Klein, Esprit,
French Connection, Gant, Guess Kipling, La Senza, Levi's Mango, Next, Pepe Jeans,
Replay, Tommy Hilfiger, and United Colors of Benetton, In addition, there are stores
by Clinique, Lancôme L'Occitane, MAC and The Body Shop. The mall houses Esprit’s
flagship store for Delhi, along with a Tommy Hilfiger flagship store, and Calvin Klein
first stand-alone store in India, featuring CK Jeans.

The mall has a multi-cuisine food court, Food Talk, on the second floor, along with
several restaurants including The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Pizza Hut, Chicago Pizza
and KFC. It also has Pantaloon Retails first Gourmet Food Bazaar, which stocks
Indian and imported food products. The mall also houses a PVR Cinemas multiplex,
which comprises six screens including 2 gold classes and has a total seating capacity
of 1,235.

There is also an outdoor open plaza, Sanskriti, for art festivals, fairs, exhibitions,
performances, and al fresco dining. The plaza is landscaped extensively in timber,
water, stone and steel and has an open–air amphitheater, along with trees and water
features.

INFERENCES:

Positive aspects:
 Proper color scheme is used
 Landscaping is beautifully done
 Sufficient sitting area is provided inside as well as outside
 Glazing is used for aesthetic purpose
 Planning is done keeping in mind, keeping in mind the commercial aspect for
shops to have maximum frontage and making the shops more visible and lively
for the crowd visiting the building
 Proper fire fighting system is provided
 Proper circulation-lifts, escalators and staircase are provided
 Adequate natural lighting inside the mall

Negative aspects:

 Basement parking provided, surface parking should be more


 ACP cladding on exterior which is flammable material
