Deutsch - German: Das Alphabet Und Die Aussprache - The Alphabets and The Pronounciation

German pronunciation is more consistent than in English, with each letter typically having one sound. Nouns are capitalized and have genders. There is no continuous tense; the helping verb comes second. Umlauts (ä, ö, ü) modify vowels and are pronounced like the base vowel + e. The Eszett (ß) represents "ss". Compound letters like ch and sch have distinct sounds. Pronunciation rules apply to word endings and beginnings.

is capital).

- Learn nouns with their genders. der (masc.), die (fem.) or das (neut.)
