How to Prepare for CLAT 2016

CLAT exam date has been announced. The entrance exam will be held on Sunday 8th May
2016. With just 45 days in hand and the board exam just round the corner, the CLAT
aspirants must be wondering how to study and win the battle.

This stage of preparation is also the stage of confusion and tension. Whether I will be able to
clear CLAT or not? If not, what all other options are available to me? Which other books can
I refer at the last moment? Which year’s CLAT paper I should revise?

In this guide, we will share with you the basic tips about how to study so that you can keep
your preparation strategy on the right track with the right pace in these crucial 45 days.

Focus on your weaknesses

Try to solve last year’s CLAT question paper and take more and more mocks. By doing so,
you will be able to identify the areas in which you have command and the areas in which
you are facing problem. Start focusing on these areas of challenge, practice more and do
revision. For some of you Mathematics is a nightmare and you wonder how to get rid of
Mathematics. The fact is, it’s a small portion and you have the full chance to score 20/20.
Practice it every day for an hour and you will comfortably clear the section with good marks.

The Plan

In these 45 days you need to prepare a solid strategy as to how to study.

1) Practice more Mocks. Since CLAT 2016 is again in Online Mode, take more and more
online mocks provided by LST. This will give you a feeling that you are taking the
actual CLAT exam and this will also increase your speed. Apart from the mocks, keep
practicing the Test Gym section (The Test Gym Sectional Test and The Test Gym topic
Tests). If you take more and more topic tests you will be able to identify your
weaknesses and can accordingly focus on those areas.
2) Analysis- Analyse your mock score, think how can you score more, where you need
to give more time. Don’t panic if you are not able to score well in the mocks,
because you still have the time to practice more.
3) Revision - Since CLAT is online, you need to manage speed and accuracy. In 2 hours
you are supposed to solve 200 questions. Speed and accuracy can improve if you
revise the last year CLAT papers (which was also online) and the other online mocks
available in LST’s Student information System.
General knowledge (Current and Static)

For Current affairs read daily newspapers, daily GK updates that are available in your SIS
account. There are various other websites which you can look for brushing up current
affairs, Static GK, Logical Reasoning. At the last moment don’t get confused with too many
books as the market is flooded with material and you may not be able to decide which one
is good. Focus on the current legal happenings like scrapping of NJAC, Juvenile Justice Bill
and other landmark judgements.

This plan is not sacrosanct, this is just to give you the basic tips so that you can prepare your
own plan according to your specific requirement.

Stay Tuned.........Every week the LST Faculty from across India will be coming with more
updates and information which will help you in cracking CLAT and other important Law
Exams.
