School Strategic Plan - 2019-2023
Lakes Entrance Primary School (2672)

School vision Our school vision has been created as a collaboration by all staff. The vision of 'All children Can and Will Achieve". The innate
understanding that the word achieve means that children will find success and continue to grow academically, physically, socially
and emotionally.

School values Our 4 school values of Mutual Respect, Success, Persistence and Belonging have been established through consultation with the
whole staff group. The values have been unpacked as to what they represent and how that looks in everyday life within the school
community and beyond into our local and global community. Staff work with students to discuss these values and to create a sense
of ownership of staff, students and their families ensuring positive climates are promoted and maintained. These values are what
underpin our School Wide Positive Behaviour approach for both academic and behavioural situations and expectations. They form
the basis of our SWPB Matrix which guides our consistency of approach across the school.

Context challenges As a coastal, regional town we rely heavily on the tourist season to support many families. This can contribute to a variation in
enrollments, however over the last 4 years the school has seen ongoing growth in its student population. The school has a significant
population considered in the low socio economic band with a current SFO of 0.75. The school also has a significant indigenous
population around 20%. As a result the school has a strong wellbeing focus and takes an active role within the community. Over the
last 5 years the school has continued to be on a strong improvement journey, Significant investment in coaching for staff has
reshaped our literacy and numeracy programs to address our students point of need. The school has a strong set of expectations
developed with the input from the students, staff and community using the School Wide Positive Framework to guide our current
practice.

Intent, rationale and focus Ultimately over the next 4 years our aim is to improve the literacy and numeracy standards, improve student engagement in their
learning, improve the health and wellbeing of all students and to ensure ever student receives the necessary individual attention to
ensure they are successful. Over the next 4 years the school will have strong focus on attendance, this has been an ongoing issue at
the school and often requires individual attention in a case by case basis. All staff will work through various student wellbeing training
eg, respectful relationships, family violence, trauma to ensure they we continue to build their capacity to deal with these situations
every day. High expectations will continue to be an ongoing conversation to place emphasis on build a cultural and school
environment in everything we do.
