Instructions

This logical reasoning test comprises 15 questions, each containing a grid of symbols. In
each question one of the symbols is missing. Your task is to choose which one of the options
best fits the missing symbol.

Each question will have 12 possible answers, one of which is correct. You will have to work
quickly and accurately to perform well in this test. There is no overall time limit for the test, but
there is a limit of 60 seconds for each question.

Try to find a time and place where you will not be interrupted during the test. The test will start
on the next page

Q1 What replaces the question mark?

Rule 1: The first two symbols in each row are superimposed to create the third symbol.

Rule 2: The last symbol in the row becomes the first symbol of the next row.

Q2 What replaces the question mark?

Rule 1: From left to right, the symbol rotates 180˚ each time. This pattern continues onto the next
row.

Rule 2: From left to right, the symbol moves clockwise around the square one place, then two

Rule 1: From top to bottom the cross moves one place anticlockwise around the board each
time. This pattern continues onto the next column.

Rule 2: From left to right, the circle moves one place diagonally north-east each time. This pattern
continues onto the next row.

Rule 1: From left to right, the hand rotates 90˚ clockwise each time. This pattern continues onto the
next row.

Rule 2: From top to bottom, the shaded section moves two places anticlockwise each time. This
pattern continues onto the next column.

An equivalent way of seeing Rule 2 is: in each row the shaded section is in the same place for
two of the three squares, and in the mirrored position for the third square.
