ACTIVITY SHEET #1

Name: Ma. Carmina V. Adriano Course:MAed Filipino Date: July 30, 2021
I. Read the short article below then, answer the questions that follow. Be guided by the given
rubrics.

Digital Collaboration and Communication in the 21 st Century

Digital collaboration has never been more important or relevant to organizations most
especially in schools. In the face of the current pandemic, it has become clear that a digital approach
to collaboration is the only way for companies to stay afloat, manage teams, and streamline
productivity.
It is a fundamental factor in making employees feel happy and valued in their jobs. Introducing
effective digital collaboration tools increases employee satisfaction by 17 percent and employee
engagement by 19 percent. But digital collaboration is not just about introducing new collaboration
tools — it’s about a way of working that makes collaboration easier for employees even when they are
working from different physical locations. That is why there is a need to better understand what digital
collaboration really is and how it can change the way we work in the future.
In simple terms, digital collaboration is just collaborating and getting things done using digital
devices and technology. It can include anything from tools, apps, software, procedures, processes, or
a completely new methodology. Digital collaboration leverages technology to improve workplace
collaboration, communication, document management, content management, and information flow
across the organization which in turn leads to improved employee productivity and efficiency. Cloud is
an important part of digital collaboration as it helps employees collaborate in real-time even beyond
time zones and geographical boundaries.

1. Explain and elaborate briefly your own concept of digital collaboration.

It is the applications that allow verbal and text communication. These could be in the form of one-on-one
messaging, group messaging, threaded discussions, etc. The point is to give people the ability to share
ideas and discuss their work with one another. Technology has revamped how teams work and how
business is being operated on a global scale. Our smartphones, tablets, laptops, and cloud
technology have given rise to remote working, diversifying the talent pool and allowing teams to
work more efficiently.

2. What do you think is the main goal of digital collaboration in every organization?

“Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.”
-Steve Jobs-
Collaboration and teamwork generate numerous benefits in the workplace. Some of these
include:

● Improved creativity
● Faster execution of ideas
● Creates a sense of community
● Improves employee productivity and morale
● Leads to both personal and professional development
● Faster problem solving

3. Why do we connect with others? Is there a need to connect with others? Why?

Connecting with others is more important than you might think. Social connection can lower anxiety and
depression, help us regulate our emotions, lead to higher self-esteem and empathy, and actually improve our
immune systems, by neglecting our need to connect, we put our health at risk . When we connect with others,
we are no longer thinking about what went wrong in the past or of our future worries. having a personal
conversation about what is important to you with someone and feeling listened to and understood and
shared experience with others that involves laughter and goodwill.

Most people believe a connection is something they have to earn by being “good enough”. However,
in reality its something developed by being “willing enough.”  To connect to another human, we need to
show them a part of our inner soul, and that is often difficult for many to exhibit such vulnerability.

4. How do you connect with your students/colleagues in time of Covid-19 turmoil?

Let your students know that you are there for them and that if they need help to reach out to you.
Let them know that you are in touch with counselors or mental health experts that can help them
should they need to speak to someone. Remember that students have left behind more than just their
classes and academics. On both residential and commuter campuses, there are important spaces
where students meet and talk about their nonacademic lives -- sports, upcoming concerts, recently
discovered shows and so on. Consider creating a community discussion board for them to share what
is happening in their lives, especially given the stress, fear and strains in these uncertain times.
Most important, ask each of your students how you can help them. The Persian poet Rumi says,
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” Likewise, in times
of uncertainty and unknowing, we can create a space where our students’ voice and insights can
illuminate the path we are carving out for them -- and us.

II. Make a phrase acrostic from the word TECHNOLOGY and be able to construct hugot or
pick-up lines from your chosen word and write it inside the box. You can use Tagalog or
English words both in your acrostic and hugot lines.
