Procedure & Policy Statement
As Kantha&P Australia is an Accredited Body able to conduct nationally coordinated criminal
history checks (commonly known as police checks). Accredited Bodies use the National Police
Checking Service, administered by the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC), to
obtain criminal history information, with the informed consent of the individual applicant.
The Accredited Agency is not allowed to obtain criminal history information without the consent
of the individual about whom the information is sought. The Agency also conducts other types of
pre-employment screening activities on behalf of employers such as reference checking,
qualifications verification, social media screening and medical screening.
When the Agency deals with personal information about any person, the Accredited Agency will
follow certain principles so as to safeguard that individual’s privacy. This policy sets out those
principles, which are consistent with the Privacy Act 1988.

Service Level Agreements: A usual service level agreement ranges from 1-5 days for check
types. They offer various checks, based like education, offender registrations, address visa etc.
there are 4 check agreements named Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta.
 ALPHA Check – It usually takes 24 hours, and it is associated with the Global Sanctions
Checks and 3 days for Education, Employment, ID, Address, Work Visa Checks. It also
does the AFP Checks which takes about 3-5 days

 BETA Checks – It usually takes 24 hours for Financial Credit Checks, and 3-5 days
Bankruptcy, Disqualification checks. It also offers Certification and Accreditation Checks,
ASIC, AFP checks, which takes about 3-5 days.

 GAMMA Checks – This check deals with Medical/ Drug / Fit 2 Work checks, which takes
approximately 5 days. A Heavy Machinery / License checks and a Working with Children,
Coach/Teacher registrations. which takes 2 days each respectively. It also offers an offender
registration checks, which takes 1 day for completion.
