NARRATIVE REPORT:

Planting is easy but making and maintaining a plant’s growth and development is a hard
challenge to be consider. Through two months and almost two weeks, I faced the hardships of
being a farmer in our little backyard. At the same time, I also felt grateful because of the result
of my plants that it grew healthy and tall as what all the farmers wished their plants to be.

Before I plant my chosen variety of plants, there were this mixed emotions and thoughts
in me that it would end up dying or be eaten by some animals like chickens, worms or
caterpillars. Three days after I conducted backyard gardening, my seeds of okras turned into
seedlings. It grew faster as what I’ve expected. But suddenly, there are times that some of my
seedlings started to die. I made up a conclusion that it lacks of soil nutrients because it was first
planted on a plastic bag as a trial if it will work out. When I noticed that my plants are dying, I
transplanted it first to a bigger plastic bag with fertilizer on it so I can monitor if my plants are
getting better. After a month, when my plants are ready to be transplanted on the ground, I took
a lot of effort just to make sure that my plants are safe in transplanting it. From the very first
day of my backyard gardening, I never forgot to took good care with my plants and water it
every day. Beside that my grade is depending on it in terms of my project in NSTP, I also want
to achieved a healthy and fully developed plants that was taken good care by me.

The growth and development of my plants was really unexpected because it started to
produce some flowers and bear vegetables for only a one and a half month. For further two
months, its production become constant and produces lots of flowers every day. From the result
of my plants, I can say that I really have done a great job and now, after of all my hard works in
making and maintaining my plants tall and healthy, it offers us now some food to eat as a return
and as a reminder for my unconditional efforts to my very own plants.
