Insights about Helen Keller the movie

Teaching is a noble profession. Teachers are always willing and able to help their students when
they are having problems with a subject or anything else; they will go to any extent to help their
students and ask nothing in return. In short, they are selfless. Watching this short film makes me realize
a lot of things and one of which is the sacrifice of Teacher Anne Sullivan. Teacher Anne Sullivan is a half-
blind woman and the teacher of Helen Keller, a girl with a disability. Not all teachers are like Teacher
Anne, who makes sacrifices and patiently teaches a student like Helen despite their poor behavior. Being
a teacher entails more than simply imparting knowledge to our students; for me, it also involves shaping
them to be good people in the future. Yes, grades do matter academically, especially now that we are
dominated by technologies, and companies desire employees who graduated with excellent grades.
Having a good grade but bad behavior is not a positive thing and will only make our country worse. I
always wanted to be a teacher who teaches not through books but through hearts, so that we can
better understand our students just like teacher Anne did with Helen. Furthermore, this film has taught
me that no matter what circumstances you find yourself in, if you are determined to succeed, nothing
will be able to stop you. Helen Keller is blind, deaf, and unable to communicate, but she overcame her
disability and grew due to Teacher Anne's compassion. We must overcome our fears or any position we
are in, to achieve the level of success we desire in life; allowing our circumstances to control our lives
will only make us a miserable and not successful one. Overall, this film has had a strong emotional
impact on me and has given me a lot of motivation to become a competent and effective teacher
someday.

Every student is different, they have different qualities, and they are unique in their different ways, but
not because we are all different, we can discriminate against people especially those with disabilities or
have special needs. This video gives us a clear explanation of what special education is. Special
Education is concerned with how we, as teachers, deal with our students' differences, disabilities, and
special needs. As educators, we must get to know our students well to understand them, help them in
areas where they are lacking, and support them in areas they have no confidence in. Class instruction is
one of the most important things we should learn, for our students to learn effectively from us. Giving
kids the security, they need to feel safe in the classroom, in my perspective, has a significant impact on
how they learn because it will allow them to express themselves and their feelings without fear of being
judged by others. Special Education provides people with disabilities, equal rights, and treatment, which
I think is a good thing because I believe that not because they have disabilities, they have no right to
learn or study; their disabilities are not their fault; therefore, we should treat them like we usually do
with normal people, because at the end of the day we are all humans. Overall, this clip inspires me to
learn more so that I can teach more efficiently and safely without treating people differently; teaching is
a lifelong learning process, and even though it is difficult to teach students, especially those with special
needs, we should try our best to make them successful someday, because, for me, that is the biggest
reward we can receive than our salary envelope.
