Title: Radiography of Components Using Se Isotopes

1. Select the thickness of job to suit Se-75 source for penetration, as per the instruction
manual of the supplier.

2. Select the type of film (I or II) as per the procedure.

3. Identify the type I film and type II film on the cassette for suitable exposure for which
it was loaded, and separate them in two boxes for exposure.

4. Equip with pocket dosimeter, film badge and survey meters before the start of
radiography job.

5. Check the radiation level on the surface of the projector.

6. Cordon off the area for any unauthorized entry, as per Company’s Radiation Safety
manual NDT/RP 001.

7. Prepare the sample for radiography.

8. Select the technique as per the procedure.

9. Make the best geometry of source location, job, and the film location to get a quality
radiograph.

10. Position ID #, IQI and all other details to appear on the radiograph.

11. Always protect the film from back-scatter.

12. Expose the film for the calculated time.

13. Withdraw the source to the safe location and check with survey meter.

14. Handle the film very carefully and send for processing.

15. Check the source position for its safety return into the camera with survey meter, and
replace the source the source in the pit.

16. Prepare a Test Report in the standard format qf-091-2
