III. LESSON PROPER


Rhythm syllables are words or sounds that help musicians perform, read,
and improvise rhythms more effectively.
Quarter note - A quarter note has one beat.

Eighth note - An eighth note has one half of one beat.

Quarter rest - a musical rest corresponding in time value


to a quarter note.

I. INTRODUCTION

Look at these pictures.


What do you noticed on these pictures?

II. OBJECTIVES
 Distinguish the different types of shapes;
 Give the importance of shapes; and
 Identify the shapes on a given figure.

III. Lesson Proper:


In the visual arts, shape is a flat, enclosed area of an artwork created
through lines, textures, colors or an area enclosed by other shapes such as
triangles, circles, and squares.
Shape- a flat figure is formed when lines meet to enclose a space. Shape can be
divided into several 2 Types of Shapes 1.Geometric shapes 2. Organic Shapes.
1. Geometric Shapes can be defined as figure or area closed by a boundary which
is created by combining the specific amount of curves, points, and lines.
Different Geometric Shapes rectangle, square, circle oval, and triangle.

2. Organic shapes are defined as shapes that are irregular or asymmetrical in


appearance and tend to have a curvy flow to them. Nearly all shapes found in
nature are organic in appearance.
