COURSE TITLE

LIVING IN THE IT ERA


DESCRIPTION:

This course explores the science, culture, and ethics of information technology, its various uses and applications, as well as
its influence on culture and society. It also aims to strike a balance between conceptual instruction and socially- and culturally-oriented
discussions as it not only explains the basic concepts or key terms in IT but also features the major IT trends along with the issues and
challenges these developments bring.

COURSE CODE: GE CRIM 1

CREDIT UNITS: 3 UNITS

PRE REQUISITIES:

 Discuss the important trends in computer technology.


 Understand the different components of the information technology field, including hardware, software,
communication, networking, research, people ware and management skills.
 Demonstrate awareness of how to methodically and practically approach a variety of technological and managerial
issues to ultimately improve business strategies and attain competitive advantage.
 Integrate the ethical standards of the profession and their professional knowledge and skills to contribute to
society.

At the end of the course, the student will be able to :
