QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH

I. PROBLEM: No Books in Senior High School Learners

II. PROPOSITION/TITLE: The Advantages of having Books in Senior High School


student’s of Benthel Asia School of Technology, Inc.

III. OBJECTIVES:
The learners will be able to;
a.) Observe the learners on their performance in class
b.) Address the advantages of having a books
c.) Provide a source of information to develop the practice of critical reading
and thinking.
d.) Implement the books for Senior High School Learners in Benthel Asia
School of Technology, Inc.

IV. FOUNDATION OF THE STUDIES:

Nowadays, teenagers are into gadgets and surfing the internet. Most of the
students are relying on the net to gather and search for answers on their
assignments and activities. Watching educational videos and tutorials on YouTube
download PDF and browse for ideas. Sad to say not all can access and has internet
in their homes. However, if we have a book we can gather information even without
internet connection. It sharpens your mind through stimulation of the brain. By
causing you to focus intensely on the words, your brain takes in a significant amount
of information, which can improve both your critical thinking and analyzing skills as
well.

This stimulation is healthy for your mind and the sharpening your thought
processes. Isn’t it amazing how a book can do that? Of course, some of the most
successful people in the world read every day and they understand that knowledge
is key. So it may be time to heed their advice if you want to be closer to your dream.
Reading doesn’t just help with your critical thinking, but it also improves your brain
function. Consider what happens when you work a muscle every day. Reading
works much the same way for your mind. The constant stimulation of the brain that a
book provides is similar to the exercise required to work a muscle; it strengthens the
separate parts of the brain that control your thinking and analyzing skills.

Reading is important because it develops our thoughts, gives us endless


knowledge and lessons to read while keeping our minds active. The importance of
reading books to help us learn and understand cannot be underestimated, not to
mention the vocabulary and thinking skills we develop.
In the world today where information are abundant, reading books is one of the best
ways to be informed. What makes reading so important? It can be for these reasons
and not just knowledge.
Books can hold and keep all kinds of information, stories, thoughts and feelings
unlike anything else in this world. In fact, for years reading was the only form of
personal entertainment, and perhaps this is why it has been in the spotlight for such
a long time.

Therefore, having books is very important in senior high school because it will
serve them as a guide in all the discussion in their class. They can read in advance if
they want to and they will have some brief understanding and knowledge about the
topic that will be discussed by their teachers. Aside from that, there are students in
senior high school who prefer to read books than having a soft copy or other
resources of the topics on their phones because some of them has a problem in
their eyes, they can’t stay any longer in reading their phones because of radiation.
Books are essential materials for everyone. We get our different knowledge from
different kinds of books. We learn things through the use of books and with the aid of
our teachers. It is through these materials that we were able to grasp what the things
around us are. Studies show that reading for pleasure make a big difference to the
children’s educational performance. Reading or having books will increase general
knowledge and a better understanding of other cultures. It is essential for students to
understand the value of books.

V. BENEFITS:
The researcher aims to help;
a.) Students: Via this study, students will develop basic language
skills and profoundly expand their vocabularies much more than
any other media.
b.) Parents: In this study, parents’ are also given a chance to
absorb this information’s and be aware especially to those
parents that are still studying.
c.) Teachers: Through this study, there are more sources of
materials and modules for their lesson.
d.) School: Through this study, the school’s effort of founding of
books will be payback because the Senior High school students
develop their interest for their overall development.
VI. HYPOTHESES:

RQ1: What is the importance of having books?


RQ2: Is having books of senior high school students in Benthel Asia School
of Technology have a big impact to the learners’ performance?
RQ3: Is having no books in senior high school learners can affect their
academic performances?
