Job Description : 190.4km of Road to a 4-lane Highway with Two separate lane for slow moving vehicular traffic
(SMVT), Bridges-5nos 100m, 25 nos <100m, Intersection-27 nos, U-Turn/ Median Break-27 nos.,
Bus Bay-44 nos.,Flyovers 6 nos., Underpass/Overpass-40nos. Provide input to design review of
Pavement works in the Detail Engineering Design including Feasibility of Pavement, proposed
material specification and sources and asphalt and concrete mix designs; Conduct field tests for
investigation and evaluation of existing pavement condition and input to review of pavement
design. Pavement evaluation using available technology and equipment. Focal point and
leading all interactions with QA/QC Pavement Consultant to enhance the level of QA/QC of client's

site equipment. Assist QAQC Pavement consultant during their regular audit process of pavement
layers on construction practices, materials, plants and supervision. Close monitoring and on-site
supervision of construction works including technical advice and assistance to the Contractor and
working group to ensure required quality, strength and smoothness of finished pavement layers.
Review and provide inputs to the prequalification documents of suppliers/subcontractors for
pavement works. To allocate tasks to the members of the pavement team. Issue observation and
non-compliance (NCR's) with regard to the pavement works not in compliance with the contract
documents. Review the performance of the Contractor with regard to the quality and program of

Job Description : Advise and support the Field Engineer’s in assisting the PIOs to carry out site investigations for
subproject design, particularly in relation to investigations of soils and the identification of remedial
measures to address any problems. Lead the design review of pavement works in the Detail
Engineering Design including Feasibility of Pavement. Review the existing LGED laboratory and
on-site facilities, staffing and procedures for quality control testing, and where necessary
recommend improvements. Provide continuing support and on-the- job training to the LGED
laboratories to develop and maintain their capacities for effective quality control testing. Support
and oversee the PIOs and Field Engineers in the quality control of the rural infrastructure
construction works, through frequent site inspection of compliance with standards and
specifications, and of testing. Advise on resolving promptly at the site level any problem arising.
Conduct trial mix design of concrete. Conduct Marshall mix design of Asphalt concrete. Check
laboratory test reports, and carry out sample spot checks of the conduct testing. Advise the SMO
and PIOs on remedial actions where problems are identified. Provide prompt advice, based on site
inspections, when problems are identified with soils, pavement or other materials during ongoing
construction works. Report to the Resident Engineer on findings and recommendations from all site
inspections and checks. Support members of the DSM consultant team from the PMO in carrying
