CSS, WW1 Reflection Paper

The document contains three responses to questions about pointing devices, voice input, and home printers. For pointing devices, the response argues that mice are preferable to touchpads or fingers because they allow free movement and clicking anywhere on screen. For voice input, the response says it is impractical for everyday use due to inaccuracies in text generation that would require much manual correction. For home printers, the response recommends the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 for its fast printing and scanning speed, automatic document feeder, and touchscreen interface.

WW1 REFLECTION PAPER

General Instructions: Using any word processing application (Word, Google docs, etc.)
in five (5) sentences, write a reflection paper that answers the questions below.

1. Most people use a mouse as their pointing device. Discuss the reasons why
someone might prefer to use one of the pointing devices describe in the text.
— There are many forms of pointing devices, such as your fingers, the touchpad, and
the mouse; however, the mouse always stands above the aforementioned pointing devices
for the simple reason that it’s very easy to move your cursor and click on what you see on
your screen. Compared to the touchpad that only allows you to control within a small
rectangle, the mouse can click anywhere as long as it's connected to your device. With the
mouse, you can freely access all the files, programs, and websites you want to your heart's
content. In addition to moving a cursor, computer mice have two buttons (left and right-
click) to allow operations such as selecting an item displayed on your screen or finding a
file’s properties. Mice also often feature other elements, such as touch surfaces and scroll
wheels, which enable additional control and dimensional input.

2. Do you think that voice input is practical for your own use? Explain your
answer.
— No. I believe that voice input is somewhat unnecessary for what I do on a day-to-
day basis. Though, of course, it depends on who uses it, but weighing the pros and cons,
you'll be more disadvantaged than you are advantaged. To give a quick overview of its
definition, voice inputs recognize spoken words and convert them into written text, it does
save you much more time uttering what you want to point out instead of typing, however,
there is no guarantee that what you want to say will be the character typed, chances are,
you might encounter ridiculously inaccurate texts generated. To this extent, it's not even
worth wasting your saliva talking since you'll have to manually correct so much of the text.

3. If price were not a consideration what kind of printer would you buy for
your home?
— Disregarding price ranges and budget, I would pick the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 for
very obvious reasons. It is an incredibly advanced printer that works hard to give you the
best printing, scanning, copying, and faxing experience. It has a 22-page-per-minute (ppm)
printing speed, automatic two-sided scanning up to 1200 dpi, a 35-page automatic
document feeder, and a 25-sheet paper tray. It also has an excellent color touchscreen that
allows you to change settings and choose your tools, with plenty of options for sending
scans to email, the cloud, or a device of your choice. What more can you ask for?
