Educational technology has been an integral part of the author's learning experience from kindergarten through college. As a kindergarten student, the author learned using flashcards, charts, and printed materials. In primary school, the author learned from books, charts, and flashcards. In high school, the author began using computers and projectors were used for class discussions. In college, the author developed technology, information, and visual literacies needed to complete tasks using resources like smart TVs, projectors, and video clips for presentations. The author concludes that educational technology has made teaching and learning more effective and efficient, but it should be used responsibly and benefit learning.

Final Term Examinations in Prof. Ed. 203- Educational Technology

Educational technology is an integral and essential part of education process. As a learner, as


early as kindergarten various educational technologies were used by my teacher in order to make the
teaching and learning process effective and efficient. Usually, the technologies used by the teacher in
this kind of setting are flashcards, charts, and printed materials that contain either texts or images.
These things are considered as technology. Books were also introduced to the learners but it contained
various picture which were designed for young learners like me when I was just in kindergarten. When I
was in grades one to six, there were many books, charts, flash cards that were used. Teachers on the
other hand, also used different things like photos and actual representation of things that were
significant to the lesson.

When I become a high school learner, I had the experience to utilize educational technology like
computer. At that time, I was very unfamiliar on how to utilize a computer and how it could help me to
do task. It eventually took time until I become learned in terms of how to do basic operation using
computer. Discussion as well, were done through the help of projector. For me it was very cool to see
such thing being used in the teaching and learning process. In college, educational technologies are very
useful. Books handouts are also utilized. It is just that there are various technologies used in order to
acquire learning and to carry out task. There are three literacy that should be fostered in college namely
technology, information and visual literacy. I believe that I have developed these literacies because as a
college student I need to be knowledgeable in terms of different educational technologies in order to
help myself in doing different task, from simple to complex ones. Smart TVs and projector are used as
well in doing reporting making it very easy to prepare the visual aids and video clips can be shown as
well in the presentation. As a college student I can say that without these educational technologies, it is
hard to cope with task that I should carry out.

Through the help of educational technology teaching and learning process has been very
efficient and effective. As for us, we should be always responsible in using them and let us always use
our literacy in utilizing them. Let’s make the most out of it and we should always use it in a way that we
can benefit out of it.
