Institute for Drilling Fluids Research and Development (IDFRD), is established under the vision and guidance of
the Founder Chairman, Sri. B K Naik as a center for drilling fluids research and operated by a team of highly research
oriented Oil and Gas experts. Indian Oil companies and Institutes, supports IDFRD’s mission to advance the national,
economic, and energy security of the India. Institute for Drilling Fluids Research and Development (IDFRD), based at the
Bangalore, #9 1st Main Brindavan Extension, Arekere Mico Layout Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore. IDFRD is comprised
of three teams – Drilling Fluids (DF), Oil & Gas (OG) and Quality Assurance & Analytical Services (QAAS). All the groups
support the efforts of the other technical disciplines throughout the organization. With over 70 years of relevant industry
experience on tap, the Support Services Group is well equipped to service not only routine business but also the
unexpected and unusual demands that the industry seems to have an infinite capacity to generate.
The QAAS team provides direct support to every technically-oriented function within the Drilling Fluids and manufacturing
companies. The team, which is arguably the most experienced, best equipped and most productive in the industry, is
capable of handling almost any analytical project generated in the drilling fluids, Crude Oil, Gas and waste management
lines. When projects are outside the scope of in-house capabilities, the QAAS team turns to a carefully selected network
of 3rd party laboratories to provide services. Only laboratories that have been thoroughly investigated and with which

Guidelines and Instructions for submitting the samples for Analysis
The samples shall be analyzed at IDFRD (India) Pvt. Ltd. at the company’s Testing Facility at IDFRD (Institute
of Drilling Fluid Research and Development) at Bangalore #9,Naik Business House,1st Main, Brindavan

1. The rates quoted herein are exclusive of service tax and service tax will be levied as per existing norms
at the time of sample submission.
2. The sample / samples should be submitted at IDFRD, Bangalore in properly sealed containers and
need to be properly labeled.
3. Moisture sensitive and other delicate samples need to be submitted in plastic / inert bottles having inner
lid.
4. The sample / samples should be submitted along with specifications against which the sample /
samples need to be evaluated. Where ever special tests are required procedures need to be submitted.
Providing procedures for desired specifications ensures enhanced customer satisfaction.
5. Sufficient quantity of sample / samples should be submitted to facilitate complete analysis with
repetitions to ensure reproducibility and repeatability.
6. Demulsifiers, PPD’s and similar samples need to be submitted in aluminum bottles along with required
quantity of crude oil emulsion or crude oil as applicable.
7. The samples shall be analyzed within stipulated time frame on first come first served basis.

8. Submission of report is subject to delays in case of unforeseen situation like continuous power shut
downs, natural calamities etc.
9. Where a particular testing facility is not available, the same shall be obtained from a reputed lab. In
such cases Test Report is subject to receiving the relevant data from consulting lab.
10. While it is our endeavor to cater to the needs of all customers, IDFRD / IDFRD reserves right to reject
any sample.
11. The sample / samples should be submitted with a crossed draft or multi city payable cheque in favor of
IDFRD. as per rates quoted in below. The amount should also include GST applicable at the time of
submitting the sample.
12. In case repetition is required after forwarding the report fresh sample should be submitted and
necessary payment be made.
13. 5% Discount will be allowed if more than two samples of same denomination is submitted
simultaneously.
14. The rates quoted herein are firm till next revision and IDFRD reserves right for revision at appropriate
time.
