“SOGIE Diversity and Inclusion in Educational Institution”
The webinar which was held on April 13, 2021 thru via Zoom and FB Live entitled
“SOGIE Diversity and Inclusion in Educational Institution”. Our speaker is Mr. Allan Cloyd H.
Dakis who is a very good speaker. The SOGIE Bill is basically an anti-discrimination bill. It
recognizes that many people, whether they're LGBTQIA++ or cisgender, experience
discrimination based on their SOGIE. The bill seeks to protect all people from this kind of
discrimination. Equality Bill Coming out of the closet is probably one of the hardest things a
lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender has to do. Whether he or she can be accepted by the family,
by the church or by the people he or she works with plays an important part in shaping their
lives. Years have passed, times have changed, laws have been consequently filed and yet
homophobia, transphobia and discrimination against the members of the LGBT community still
remain to be a global phenomenon. Such discrimination is underpinned by the idea that
heterosexuality is the only “normal” sexual orientation and that each sex plays a specific role in
life (gender roles).
I learned many things about Sexual orientation, gender identity and expression
(SOGIE), Transgender are people deserving of every right and responsible for every duty. We
should embrace, care for, and respect their humanity. But to treat them with the feel-good
political correctness of progressives, irresponsibly allowing ourselves to pretend that reality does
not exist is doing a great disservice to our fellow human beings. As decent human beings who
respect the rights of others, we should work towards a world where everyone is equal regardless
of being LGBTs or not, no special rights; where no one is afraid of going to school to be bullied
by their classmates or teachers, LGBT or not; where all are not made to suffer crimes, regardless
of sexual orientation, and where everyone is considered equal in all aspects of life
