The Magos Solution
END-TO-END S/W & H/W SOLUTION
HARDWARE SOFTWARE THE MAGOS INTEGRATED SOLUTION
• CE&FCC approved solid state • Allows easy radar installation, • PTZ auto-Cued by MASS S/W
Ground based radar integration & UX driven • Event logged and recorded in any VMS
ADVANTAGES OVER EXISTING TECHNOLOGIES
HIGH PERFORMANCE RADARS:
• All condition best in class
detection
• Auto PTZ cuing
• Easily integrated with VMS
• Wide area coverage
• Cost effective
• Low power consumption
• Easy to install and
maintain
Why Radars
1. Much larger coverage than cameras/fibers/fence sensors – Means less sensors needed
per site.
2. PD/PFAR – Superior to all other sensors – Means less guards needed for
verifying/screening alarms
3. All Weather Operation – fog, rain, wind, snow, hail, smoke, complete darkness and direct
sunlight
Why Magos Radars?
1. Better Coverage (in elevation)
2. Better Cost Effectiveness
3. Better Power Consumption
4. Simple Network Interface – simple installation and minimum infrastructure
5. Complete Solution together with MASS and MASS+AI (PTZ cueing support with all
cameras, integrated to all VMSs, nuisance alarm eliminated with AI).

Auto Dealer Case Study
THE NEED: AS PROPERTY CENTERS, AUTO DEALERSHIPS
AND DISTRIBUTION CENTERS FACE A CHALLENGE OF
BEING A TARGET TO THEFTS AND VANDALISM
SITE PERIMETER: 2750 m
OUR SOLUTION
4 SR500 radar cover the entire car lot
providing full proof perimeter protection
replacing 40 fixed VMD cameras.
3 High speed Laser illumination HD cameras
are automatically cued to the radars detection.
ELECTRIC UTILITY SUB STATIONS
THE NEED: SUBSTATIONS BECAME EXPOSED TO
CRIMINAL AND TERRORIST ATTACKS DUE TO THE
POTENTIAL DAMAGES. PREVENTION CAN SAVE MANY
LIVES, AVERTING NATIONAL SCALE ECONOMIC AND
SOCIAL HARM
SITE PERIMETER: 690 m
OUR SOLUTION
5 radars were installed on two masts providing
full coverage of the area replacing 20+ thermal
cameras
PORT PERIMETER PROTECTION
THE NEED: SEAPORTS HAVE COMPLICATED AND LARGE
SCALE PERIMETERES(BOTH LAND&SEA).
RADARS ARE THE ONLY SOLUTION THAT COVERS THESE
WIDE PERIMETEES AT ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS WITH
MINIMAL INSTALLATION REQUIRMENTS
SITE PERIMETER: 8000 m
OUR SOLUTION
20 SR-500 radars were installed offering full
coverage at both land and sea, replacing 120 cameras -
Protecting the 8 km perimeter including
Waterfront
AIRPORT PERIMETER PROTECTION
OUR SOLUTION
• Guard VIP Planes
• Accident prevention for take off &landing
• Short range drone detection
• Cover wide areas and operate PTZ efficiently
• Optimal detection at all weather conditions
• Improve security personnel efficiency
• Critical areas control
DATA CENTERS
THE NEED: DATA CENTERS ARE OFTEN EXPOSED TO INTRUSION ATTEMPTS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF STEALING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, INFORMATION
AND SABOTAGE. THEREFORE THEY MUST BE MONITORED AROUND THE
CLOCK, ALLOWING ACCESS ONLY TO AUTHORIZED INDIVIDUALS.
OUR SOLUTION
• 8 radars we installed in 2 sites, followed by 16
PTZ Cameras on 25’ poles or building mounted
• The radars detect both ground and aerial targets
each radar is installed with 2 PTZ :
1 for drones and 1 for perimeter surveillance.
• The radar solution was 40% of the quote for
the original VMD based solution.
OIL /GAS
THE NEED: THE OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY ARE
CONSIDERED HIGH RISK LOCATIONS DUE TO THE HARSH
AND REMOTE LOCATIONS THEY ARE LOCATED
IN AND THEIR COMPLICATED LAYOUT
SITE PERIMETER: 600 m
OUR SOLUTION
3 SR-500 radars were installed on a
15m pole and Close 360˚ integrated
with Thermal PTZ instead of 24 fixed
FOV cameras
DEPLOYABLE KITS FOR CONSTRUCTION SITE MONITORING
OUR SOLUTION
Immediate security solution for sites and customers
who can’t or don’t want to purchase equipment (leasing)
or invest in infrastructure.
FISH FARMS
THE NEED: PROTECTING IN-SEA FISH FARMS DEALING WITH THEAFT BY
LOCAL FISHERMAEN
OUR SOLUTION
A single SR-500 radar covers each
farm, detecting up to 600m,
together with one PTZ camera per
site.
The radar is installed on a buoy and
replaces the previous solution
which was a costly thermal PTZ
camera that used VMD for
detection.

Introduction to Radars
Introduction to Radars
How Do Radars Work?
Range & Direction Determination:
▲ Radars transmit signals within the specific radar coverage zone.
▲ The signals encounter objects within the coverage zone and are then reflected back to the
radar.
▲ The coverage zone is broken into cells of range and angle. Energy in each cell is measured.

How Do Radars Work?
Clutter:
▲ Radars constantly compute average returned signal per resolution cell. This is called “clutter”
(like a map of the terrain).
▲ Bigger & metal objects = higher clutter.
▲ Slightly moving obstacles (trees, flags) have higher clutter than static obstacle
Clutter level - High
Clutter level - Low
High Clutter Level
Low Clutter Level
Introduction to Radars
How Radars Detect Targets?
▲ In each sweep the momentary returned signal is compared Vs. the clutter map in each resolution cell.
▲ If a signal is stronger than the clutter, we have a detection!
▲ Sometimes the same target in a different environment might not be detected!
Same signal level

Introduction to Radars
Target Detection & Tracking
▲ Each radar sweep produces “detections” – momentary high energy above clutter.
▲ A single “detection” is not enough for declaring a target.
▲ Detections are tracked over time, from the consecutive sweeps.
▲ The “Tracker” mechanism tries to “draw” a line between detections. If this “line” (or track) meets
several conditions (non-erratic route, minimum time and minimum distance traveled) then it
will be declared a Valid Track and be reported to the user as a target.

Introduction to Radars
Doppler Effect
▲ Objects with “radial” speed generate a frequency shift called Doppler effect (Truck Horn
example) – that can be measured (same as range and angle)
▲ Only moving objects with radial (“to and form”) velocity generate Doppler effect
▲ Tangent (“left and right”) moving objects do not generate Doppler – they are the same as static
objects!

Introduction to Radars
How Doppler Affects Detections
▲ In each “Tile” the radar calculates the returned signal and clutter in different speeds/dopplers
▲ Most Obstacles in the field create “Clutter” with zero Doppler/Velocity
▲ Fencing can create a “wall” to the radar
▲ → Conclusion – radial/moving target compete with less clutter, and tangent/slow targets compete
with more clutter and are harder to detect!
