QFFICE MEMORANDUM
In accordance with the provsions contained in Office Memorandum No F.25
(IIYDGEHS 140/DHS / 2011/38850-55 dated 28/07/2010, regarding adoption of CS
(MAYCGHS provision, the guidelines regarding issue of Glucometer and Glucostics to all
beneficiaries of DGEHS suffering from Diabetes Mellitus are laid down as under:
(@). Reimbursement of expenses on Glucosties to DGEHS beneficiaries is recommended
to the following categories related to Diabetes Mellitus, on the advice of Specialist doctors of
Government Hospitals:-
@_ Diabetic Cellulitis
(ii) Diabetic foot/ Diabetic Gangrene
ii) Diabetes Mellitus with CRF stage Ill & above
(iv) Diabetes Mellitus Type I
(v) Brittle Diabetes Mellitus
(vi) Diabetes Mellitus Type II during initiation of Insulin (one month only).
Tne maxi-aum limit of Giucostrips to be reimbursed has been kept as 25 numbers per
month limited to the rate of Rs. 25/- per strip.
(b). Glucometer may be issued to the DGEHS beneficiaries suffering from Diabetic
Gangrene to monitor the sugar level on regular basis. However, in such cases the cost of the
Glucostics to be used in the Glucometer would have to be borne by the beneficiaries themselves.
