Degree of Comparison

1. An adjective can have three degrees of comparison: positive, comparative, and superlative. 2. The positive degree is the basic form of the adjective with no comparison. The comparative degree denotes a higher quality than the positive and uses "er" endings. The superlative degree compares more than two things and uses "est" endings. 3. Adjectives form their comparative and superlative degrees by adding "er" and "est", changing the final consonant and adding endings, changing "y" to "i" and adding endings, or irregularly with more/most and other/other forms.
