Guidelines for the 1st Quarter Performance Task
GENERAL MATHEMATICS
“Working Hand in Hand through Rational Equations and Functions”
You will be put together in groups composed of 5-6 members.
TASK(S): The group will think of a collaborative output which demonstrates unity, cooperation,
and work to achieve a particular goal that focuses on household chores.
ROLE(S): The group will act as Filipino individuals who will initiate the responsibility of doing
chores at home.
Choices for Household Chores:
1. Sweeping and dusting the living room
2. Sweeping and dusting the kitchen
3. Mopping all the rooms in the house
4. Tidying up the bedroom
5. Cooking breakfast
6. Cooking lunch
7. Cooking dinner
8. Washing the dishes
9. Washing clothes
10. Washing beddings
11. Planting seedlings
12. Ironing tops
13. Ironing bottoms
Procedures:
1. The group will choose one (1) household chore from the choices presented by the
teacher. A “FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE” basis will be observed when choosing
household chore.
Note: This is to prevent the duplication of household chores in a class.
2. The group must plan out for their household chore and designate tasks to each member.
Available positions:
Group Leader
Role: To compile and edit the video
Assistant Leader
Role: To compile reflections
Video Editor
Roles: To compile and edit the video
The one who will upload the final video on the designated One Drive
Folder.
Word Documentation Editor (2-3 persons)
Roles: To edit the word document containing the introduction, computations and
reflections.
Check if the group followed the given format designated for the word
documentation.
The one who will submit the final word documentation in ELMS.
3. The household chores need to be implemented at the same time and documented while it
is being carried out. Record a video for documentation purposes.
Note: Time lapse is allowed.
4. Determine the time it will take for each member to finish working the household chore
alone.
Note: Unit of measurement must be in MINUTES.
Round your time into whole number (units in minutes)
5. Determine the AVERAGE TIME it will take if all members will work the household
chore at the same day and time.
Show the complete solution of your AVERAGE TIME.
6. Solve for the THEORETICAL TIME
1 1 1 1 1 1
+ + + + =
T1 T 2 T3 T 4 T5 Tt
DERIVED RATIONAL EQUATION
7. Find the difference in the ACTUAL TIME or the AVERAGE TIME and
THEORETICAL TIME (based on the derived Rational Equation.
8. Determine the margin of error.
T t −T A Theoretical Time−Actual Time
e= x 100 e= x 100
Tt Theoretical Time
9. State the factors why you have obtained margin of error which is low, relatively high,
high or very high.
Explanation: minimum of 5 sentences
Ranges for Margin of Error
50 % and above-Low
51-80% Relatively High
81-99% High
100% and above-Very high
