1. System Requirement
1.1. PC for capturing image
● Operating System Microsoft XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
● CPU Intel Pentium 4 630 processor 3.0GHz
● Cash Memory 1MB
● HDD 250 GB (prefer bigger capacity)
● Main Memory 1GB DDR2
● Video Memory 128 MB 128bit
● Network 2 EA of 10/100/1000 Gigabit
● Serial 2 EA of RS232 serial port
(The one serial card is provided by VATECH, the other is on mother board)
● DVD+/-RW
● Monitor Min, resolution 1024x768

● Operating System Microsoft XP Home Edition Service Pack 2
● CPU Intel Pentium 4 630 processor 3.0GHz
● Cash Memory 1MB
● Main Memory 512MB DDR2
● Network 1 EA of 10/100/1000 Gigabit
● DVD+/-RW
● Monitor Min, resolution 1024x768

SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4 is not supported on Window

NT 4.0, Windows Millennium Edition and Windows 98 platforms.

① EasyDent V4: Install the EasyDent V4 viewer.

② Device Install the files for device.
③ Manual: Install the manuals(installation, user and troubleshooting manual).
④ Acrobat Reader: Install Acrobat reader.
⑤ Display: View the description for each item.
⑥ VATECH: Link to the homepage of VATECH.
⑦ Exit: Close the window of installation.

3. Installation
3.1. EasyDent V4
① Insert the installation CD to CD-rom.
② Click ‘EasyDent V4’ to install EasyDent V4 viewer.

③ Preparation the installation.

④ EasyDent V4 installshield wizard. Click ‘Next’.

⑤ Click ‘I accept the terms of the license agreement’, and then click ‘Next’.

⑥ Select features what you want to install. And then click ‘Next’.

PC for server(DB & File servers): Select all features

PC for viewing: Select features except for DB & File servers.

WE recommend installing DB & Files servers on same PC.

⑦ Installation is started automatically.

⑧ MSDE(Microsoft SQL server Desktop Engine) is installed automatically.

⑨ Choose ‘Yes, I want to restart my computer now’, and then click ‘Finish’.

3.2. Device
① Click ‘Device’ to install the files for device.

② Select device(double-click) what you want to install.

z Panorama: PAX-400/C1/C2/OM, NEO-TOP, PAX-PNP, PAX-500C1/C2/Ortho.

z Intra-oral sensor: HDS-100L, HDS-150S, AnySensor 1.5.
z Intra-oral camera: WHICCAM(wireless).
z Back: Go to main window.

① Click ‘Manual’ to install the manual.

② Select manual(double-click) what you want to install.

4. FAQ
4.1. Easydent V4 doesn’t run after installing.
① Question: The error message is occurred on installing, and EaysDent V4 doesn’t run after installing.

② Answer: It comes from the wrong installation of MSDE, and the factors are various. Please check the
PC as below, and reinstall MSDE.

Case 1: MSDE already was installed on PC.

1) Checking for installation
‘Start’ -> ‘Setting’ -> ‘Control Panel’ -> ‘Add or Remove Programs’

2) If the installed-MSDE in not needed, uninstall it from PC.

Note: When you uninstall MSDE from PC, you should delete the folder[C:\Programs Files\Microsoft
SQL Server\].
3) Reinstall EasyDent V4 to PC.

Case 2: In case of re-installing EasyDent V4.

1) The operation is same as Case 1.

If there are data in DB of EasyDent V4, you should back-up the DB [C:\EasyDent
V4\DB\TSFD.mdf/TSFD.ldf] before re-installing.

4.2. Can’t uninstall installed-MSDE from PC for installing EasyDent V4.

① Question: Can’t uninstall installed-MSDE from PC for installing EasyDent V4.
② Answer: 1. Use a new PC that is not installed MSDE(recommend).
2. Install MSDE as instance (not recommend).
1) Install MSDE by EasyDent V4 for instance.
2) Modify the net.ini file[C:\Easydent4\] as below.
[SQL_DBSERVER]
DNS=127.0.0.1\DBSERVER
3) Modify the net.ini file on PC for viewing image.

4.3. Can’t link to DB server via network

① Question: Can’t link to DB server via network.
② Answer: It happens that you can not link to DB server(MSDE) from outside because of Firewall in
case of Window XP SP2.
z Cancel the Fire-wall as below
1) Go to ‘Start’ -> ‘Setting’ -> ‘Control Panel’ -> ‘Network and Internet Connections’ -> ‘Network
Connections’. And then click ‘Change Windows Firewall settings’.

2) Go to ‘Exceptions’ tab, and then click ‘Add Program..’.

3) Click ‘Browse’. Select item to cancel the fire-wall[C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL

Server\MSSQL\Binn\sqlservr.exe].

4) Check the cancellation. And then click ‘OK’.

5) Restart PC.

5. Uninstall EasyDent V4

5.1. Deleting EasyDent V4 Program

5.1.1. Go to Control Panel

- Select “Add or Remove Program”

5.1.2. Click Remove button

5.2. Deleting Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine

5.2.1. Remove “Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine”

5.3. Deleting “EasyDent4” folder

5.3.1. Turn off “File Server”

“EasyDent4” folder can not be deleted, in case the File Server is turned on.

5.3.2. Delete “EasyDent4” folder at C\

5.4. Deleting MS SQL folder

5.4.1. Delete MS SQL folder at C: Program file\Microsoft SQL Server
