VCI Quick Start Guide
VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) device

• USB Cable
• Lanyard
• Trigger Adapter (Kit MDP110 Only)
2 Attach Lanyard
• Attach the lanyard ensuring not to cover the USB port, DLC, or LED
3 Associate Technicians to the VCI

Login to the Technical Service Portal @ www.witechsystem.com
Select “Manage Assets”
• Select “Edit Users” for the new device serial number
• Select the desired technician and select “Map User”
• If desired, select additional technicians and select “Map User”
i. NOTE: Technician associations can take up to 30 minutes to sync with the wiTECH server
4 Run the VCI Setup Utility
• Download and install the VCI Setup Utility
i. Log into DealerCONNECT @ https://dealerconnect.chrysler.com
ii. Navigate to Service > wiTECH Information > VCI Setup Utility
iii. Download and run the installation of the VCI Setup Utility
• Run the VCI Setup Utility
i. Connect the VCI device to the computer via USB cable
ii. Open the VCI Setup Utility and run through the steps to configure the VCI device to wiTECH 2
iii. When the VCI Setup Utility configuration has completed, keep the VCI Setup Utility open with the VCI
connected to the PC
5 Update the firmware on the VCI
• Log into wiTECH 2 @ https://login.n.fcawitech.com
i. NOTE: If you have issues logging into wiTECH 2, verify your login credentials function with DealerCONNECT
and that 30 minutes have passed since the technicians were associated.
• The VCI device displays in the Vehicle Selection screen
• Run through the steps to update the firmware on the VCI device
6 Configure Wi-Fi on the VCI

From the wiTECH 2 Vehicle Selection screen, select the device Configuration Settings gear
Select the Network dropdown
• Select the desired network and enter the network security credentials
7 Setup is complete
The VCI is ready to be used with the wiTECH 2 diagnostic system.
