Hand Technique Push Pull
Step1:
Once you saw the explanatory video, sit in front of you practice pad, and do the following:
FOCUS:
-Land the first stroke with an arm motion
-Let the stick bounce back freely
-Play the strokes even
Step 2:
Once the first part is done, do the following
(Audio workout 1)
-play 60 seconds right hand using the Push Pull technique
-play 60 seconds left hand using the Push Pull technique
-play 60 seconds unisone hands using the Push Pull technique
-play 60 seconds alternated hand using the Push Pull technique
Speed up 5 times
Repeat with heavier sticks
FOCUS:
-keep the spaces between the notes even
-keep the strokes volume even
-don’t choke the stick
Step 3:
Once we’ve worked on single strokes, let’s work on the double strokes doing the following:
(Audio workout 1)
-play 60 seconds alternated hands 2 strokes per hand using heavy sticks
Speed up 5 times
Repeat with regular wood sticks
FOCUS:
-Land the first stroke with an arm motion
-keep the spaces between the notes even
-keep the strokes volume even
