ETHICS
As we are human beings and we are following
some moral principles for doing certain activities
as well as to make our life comfortable with good
manners and behaviour.
These concerns and principles related to good
manners, good behaviour is known as ethics.
AI ETHICS
Certain
ethics are also associated with AI systems
and tools. These ethics are known as AI ethics.
AI ethics can be defined as following:
AIethics refers to the basic principles of AI system
design that use the good code of conduct and
produces the results.
In other words ethics means what is right and
unethical means what is wrong.
AI ETHICS
Valid concerns surrounding AI technology:
Will AI be a threat to humanity? For that AI first
needs to surpass human intelligence. Experts do
not expect that to happen in the next 30-40 years.
Will AI be a threat to our jobs? Yes, 44% of low
education workers will be at risk of technological
unemployment by 2030.
Can we trust the judgment of AI systems? Not yet,
AI technology may inherit human biases due to
biases in training data
AI ETHICS
AI ethics are classified into two categories:
AI bias
AI access
AI ETHICS
What is AI bias?
AI bias is an anomaly in the output of machine
learning algorithms.
These could be due to the pre judgment
assumptions made during the algorithm
development process or pre judgment in the
training data.
AI ETHICS
Types of AI bias?
Cognitive biases: These are effective feelings
towards a person or a group based on their
perceived group membership.
Lack of complete data: If data is not complete, it
may not be representative and therefore it may
include bias. For example, most psychology
research studies include results from
undergraduate students which are a specific
group and do not represent the whole population.
AI ETHICS
Will AI ever be completely unbiased?
Technically, yes.
An AI system can be as good as the quality of its
input data. If you can clean your training
dataset from conscious and unconscious
assumptions on race, gender, or other ideological
concepts, you are able to build an AI system
that makes unbiased data-driven decisions.
AI ETHICS
What Does Access Mean?
Access, in the context of security, is the privilege or
assigned permission to use computer data or
resources in some manner.
For example, a user may be allowed read access
to a file, but will not be allowed to edit or delete it.
Access is also the amount of admittance allowed to
any given entity; or,
It can simply mean the permission for admittance.
AI ETHICS
Data collection
This is the first concern because AI is mostly rely
on data. The AI system is nothing without data.
Whenever you think about data you should think
about their storage, collection, privacy and many
more concerns.
Now a days internet has the entire world. We are
using smart phones and internet. Daily we are
accessing lots apps and websites.
AI ETHICS
Can you answer the question:
When you install any app on your mobile what type
of permissions the app is asking for?
the answers is:
1. Contacts
2. Location
3. Email
4. Storage
5. Notes
And specific apps may ask specific permission to
allow.
AI ETHICS
When you tap on allow button on your mobile or
smart phone you are giving your details for simple
access. That means whatever data you fed in that
particular app is your identity according to the
app you have used.
AI ETHICS
As you have seen that most of the robots or
assistants are available in female voice only. This
is because the computer system trained on the
specific data and common observation for those
kind of jobs.
AI ETHICS
Many AI systems do exactly what they have
designed for!
They cannot take their decisions.
They uses the provided data and training
material.
They never understand the data nor interprets
them..
AI ETHICS
Implications Of The Al Technology
Voice-based search is on the rise
24/7 availability
Improved user experience
Reduced errors
Increased speed
Dangerous tasks
Use of medical apps
