Answers Module 2 Curriculum Development

This document discusses components of curriculum approaches and identifies weaknesses in the Philippine education system. It asks students to identify difficulties in their own curriculum and propose solutions. Specifically, it addresses three areas: [1] goals and objectives being unclear, [2] curriculum content relying too heavily on student reports rather than guidance from professors, and [3] lack of opportunities to apply learned knowledge. Proposed solutions include clearly writing objectives and goals, professors ensuring validity of student presentations, and providing hands-on experiences for students.

society. Choose a particular level.

pandemic some other students can’t easily cope up or gain knowledge that much compare
to the old system of face to face class. Students are experiencing brain drain. Here are some
reasons why the Philippine education is deteriorating it is due to the low government
budget for education, poor quality of teachers, poor management of schools, poor school
facilities such as laboratory and library facilities; poor learning environment, the content of
the curriculum, inadequate books and science equipment, the poor method of instruction,
shortages of classrooms; and others.

2. In your own experiences as a student:

at least 3.

Answers:

a. Goals and Objectives

Curriculum content
Curriculum Experiences

b. Goals and objectives - It is not clear. Maybe there are goals and objectives but through the
process it is not applied.

Curriculum content– There is no clear outline on what are the students going to learned as it is
more on reporting from my fellow classmates. We are all listening to the discussants wherein all
the information given are only base on a student idea. It is not enough to be a curriculum
content as we need guidance knowledge coming from the professor itself.
I also experience a teacher that supposed to discuss a science subject however on that entire
period she just tells us about some stories not related to our subject.

Curriculum experiences – Sometimes we cannot actually use and apply the knowledge that we
learned in a particular subject.

c. Goals and objectives – The objectives and goals should be written clearly. This would help the
students to visualize lessons and clarify with the teacher and themselves if they have truly
grasped or understood what is needed in the particular lesson.

Curriculum Content - The professor should always recap or correct the students on the spot if
the process of learning is through reporting. Professors should go over what students will
present to ensure the validity of the information that they are passing on to every learner.

Curriculum experiences - let the students experience firsthand on the application of what they
were taught in order for it to be useful in the future.
