The Transaction Processing System (TPS) is a software/hardware combination that

supports transaction processing in a computer database system. It is suitable for monitoring


online transactions for greater efficiency and records daily routine transactions and provides an
information system for business transactions to assist a company's daily transactions and
operations. Shipping, worker information, payroll, and other transactions are examples of
transactions. It keeps the purchasing process of a company in balance and under control. It is in
charge of organizing product inventories and delivery, as well as handling payment account
transactions and processing sales and payrolls. As a result, it is extremely useful for tracking
online transactions since it allows for a little period of time between when a product is purchased
and when it is sold. According to the video above, after a year, there is clearly an inconsistency
in how they carry out their activities, which has impacted their overall effectiveness as a
company. Human errors, delays, and incorrect records were clearly limiting their company's
growth. As you can see, the manager or the person in charge of paying the wage is confused
since she is manually processing payroll. They are having difficulty determining the appropriate
wage for the employees in this situation. They don't have enough technology to record all of the
transactions, so it's difficult for them to keep track of everything. So it's easy to forget what
transactions are being done because they don't have enough data that was recorded that they can
use as a basis for paying the right amount of salary on this, because they use manual processing
and some data will be forgotten to be recorded, and if something comes up that could cause
confusion, they don't have enough data that was recorded that can be used as proof. They
improve in the end of the video as a result of the implementation of an innovative system,
Transaction Processing System. The manager can quickly record all of the data and transactions
that are taking place, and she will have no trouble finding previous transactions to use as a basis
for determining the appropriate wage for each employee. And the benefit of this is that with the
usage of a Transaction Processing System, all of the employees will receive a fair compensation,
and their company will be more trustworthy.
I chose to discuss Data Integrity because as soon as the Transaction Processing System
was introduced to the manager, they developed a modern and automated system for processing
transactions that improved the safekeeping of records and made them easily accessible to the
intended users in just a few clicks. They devised TPS procedures that maintained the same
approaches for all financial and non-financial transactions, allowing them to efficiently safeguard
data and effectively decrease the risk of software difficulties and the ability to withstand future
hardware and software issues. As all transactions are being inputted, it must be able to handle
any hardware or software faults without causing data corruption. It is likely to undertake
paperless transactions, which removes human data entry, because it can speed up the input of
every transaction process. It guarantees the legitimacy and accuracy of the company's data,
improves its stability and performance, and makes it easier to maintain. This has been commonly
required for conducting multiple processes simultaneously and giving immediate transaction
confirmation. Furthermore, maintaining data integrity is a never-ending process. It all starts with
the data you collect and extends to how you store, retain, transfer, and clean it. While data
optimization may not be the most exciting component of your company, it is essential. Your
company will be in the best position to provide memorable customer experiences, make
intelligent decisions, and achieve the highest long-term performance and return in all areas if it
has strong foundations and processes for data integrity. (Lucy Fuggle, 2021)
We live in a technologically advanced society where gadgets and technology have a huge
impact on our daily lives. Technology is necessary, especially these days of pandemic that it
became the bridge of communication and learning between people. Since Covid-19 started, for
me my greatest beneficial investment as a student is in technology such as laptops, computers
and cell phones, which are especially important in any school or institution that offers online
programs. This has helped me in completing my coursework more efficiently and effectively,
especially with the Canvas application, which allows me to carefully manage and monitor my
classes and calendar, whether it is synchronous or asynchronous activities. This technology also
helped me to communicate with different people, especially with my classmates. If there is a
group work that we need to do, we will just make a group chat for everyone to be participated in.
