* We form the passive of modal verbs ( can / may / must etc ) like this

modal verb + be + past participle

The roof of the house must be repaired

* To turn a sentence from the active into the passive:


a) The object of the active sentence becomes the subject in the passive sentences.
b) The active verb changes into a passive form.
c) The subject of the active sentence becomes the agent.
