Scope of Work

Linux Systems [ Red hat – CentOS – Ubuntu] Professional Services:

➢ Install and Configure Linux Systems:


• install and set up Linux systems and servers, for organization-wide deployment.
• ensure that the system works reliably and quickly and answer questions related to
setup and installation.
• set up the architecture of the system, including back-end databases and scripts for
specific applications and use cases.

➢ Perform System Maintenance:


• perform routine system maintenance and resolve server-side issues as they arise.
• review error logs and reported errors and seek out solutions.
work directly with the system’s source code to make necessary changes to ensure
reliable performance and then deploy those changes throughout the system.

➢ Create System Backups


• conduct system backups according to company or industry standards.
• perform backups weekly, daily, or more frequently depending on system space and
business needs
• improve system recovery after a crash or other outage and supports data integrity by
ensuring that there is never a massive loss of vital information.

➢ Monitor System Performance


• monitor system performance to prevent slowdowns and crashes.
• examine daily traffic logs and reports or receive direct reports from end users.
• notices a potential issues or recurring problems within the system,
• develop and deploy solutions so that the system remains usable for all personnel.

➢ Provide Technical Support and Guidance

➢ Develop Information Security Plans and Policies

• develop strategies to respond to and recover from a security breach.
• responsible for educating the workforce on information security through training and
building awareness.

➢ Implement Protections

➢ Implement Infrastructure

➢ Perform Maintenance
• monitor client systems daily and pinpoint problem areas. They proactively design and
install upgrades, releases, and application patches.

• respond promptly to issues reported by clients, conducting root cause analysis and

researching possible solutions, developing and presenting their design ideas,
thoughtfully evaluating suggestions from others.
• evaluate industry trends and assist in implementing standards and best practices.

➢ Create Documentation
• create and maintain documentation for all system-related processes and procedures
that they’re in charge of, including project requirements, changes and upgrades,
implementation plans, and support tickets.

Database Operating Professional Services:

➢ Design and Implement Databases


• create new database solutions and implement them properly.
• create new databases based on the needs of end users in the company and the overall
project requirements.

➢ Monitor Database Performance


• monitor overall database performance to ensure end users are receiving the
information needed in as little time as possible. If performance is suffering, DBAs
identify the problem and promptly fix it.

➢ Run Database Testing


• run tests on the new solution to ensure it functions correctly before fully rolling it out.
Testing involves creating test scenarios to immediately identify and correct problems.

➢ Control Security Access and Permissions


• controlling all employee access and permissions for accessing their employer’s
databases.
• verifying access requests and revoking access for employees who have quit or
otherwise left the company.

➢ Write and Maintain Documentation


• responsible for creating and maintaining all database documentation, this includes
documenting data policies and procedures as well as data standards.

Networking Professional Services:

➢ Maintenance
• examine the day-by-day performance of the organization’s network and back up its
data.
• install network hardware and software and teach people to use it.

➢ Troubleshooting
• Whether the whole server goes down or an individual is having difficulty accessing
email, the Network Administrator examines the problem and uses his or her expertise
to rectify the situation.

➢ Ensuring security
• add users, deal with passwords, delete old accounts, construct firewalls and take other
protective measures to ensure data isn’t compromised and unauthorized users cannot
gain access to the system.
➢ Evaluating
• look at data to figure out how well the system is working and accomplishing needs.
