Designed by government architect Beni Burnett,
this ‘K’ type house was completed in 1939. It
was intended as accomodation for senior public
servants.
The house is a two storey building with living
and dining areas downstairs opening onto
shaded verandahs and sleeping areas upstairs.
the whole design is intended to make living in
the tropics easier with walls that open to the
breezes.
