The Kisii County Government invites applications from suitable and qualified Kenyan Citizens to fill
vacancies pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and Section 63 of the County
Government Act, 2012.
DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION, CORPORATE SERVICES & STAKEHOLDER
MANAGEMENT
VACANCY NO. KSI/PSB/EA/3/2021: SUB-COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR (6 POSTS) JG ‘Q’
TERMS: PERMANENT / CONTRACT
This vacancies require applicants from the following Sub-Counties (Constituencies) i.e. Bonchari; Kitutu
Chache North; Kitutu Chache South; Nyaribari Chache; Nyaribari Masaba; and South Mugirango.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i) Coordinating and facilitating citizen participation in the development of policies, plans and delivery of
services;
ii) Enhance administrative capacity for effective functions and governance at the local level;
iii) Ensuring compliance with legal, statutory and regulatory requirements;
iv) Facilitating inter-governmental relations and conflict resolution at the Sub-County level;
v) Mobilize revenue collection and play a critical role in building businesses registers of ratepayers and
business people in the Sub-County;
vi) Overseeing safe custody of County government assets in the Sub-County;
vii) Coordinating and liaising with other directorates and departments in the Sub-County;
viii) Supervision of development projects in the Sub-County;
ix) Providing linkage between the office and the community;
x) Disseminating information to the public;
xi) Articulate implementation of Articles 10 (on National values and principles of governance) and 232
(on values and principles of public service) of the constitution to the citizens;
xii) Exercise any other functions and powers delegated by the Director Devolved Units.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT
For appointment to this grade an officer must:-
i) Be a Kenyan Citizen and originate from the Ward applying for.
ii) Have Bachelor’s degree in Administration and Management from a recognized university (Masers
degree will be an added advantage)
iii) Have thorough understanding of devolution, the county development plans and objectives.
iv) Have a work experience of at least five (5) years in administration and management at senior
management level.
v) Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
vi) Satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution.

TERMS: PERMANENT / CONTRACT
This vacancies require applicants from the following Wards i.e. Bassi Chache; Bassi Masige West;
Nyacheki; Boochi Borabu; Bogeka; Kegogi; and Moticho.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

VACANCY NO. KSI/PSB/EA/5/2021: VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTRUCTORS (42 POSTS) JG ‘G|H|J’
TERMS: PERMANENT / CONTRACT
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Theoretical and practical instruction in the area of specialization;
Preparing and maintaining schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes, training records, teaching and
learning materials;
Carrying out trainee assessment;
Ensuring proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment;
Conducting co-curricular activities;
Maintaining trainees’ discipline; and
Guidance and counselling.

i. Be a Kenyan Citizen
ii. Be a holder of a Artisan Certificate, Diploma or Degree in any of the following fields: Electronics
Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering & Motor Vehicle, Hair Dressing and
Beauty Therapy, Textile Technology, Food and Beverage Technology, Food processing, Carpentry
and Joinery, Building Technology, Information Communication Technology, Entrepreneurship, Arch
Wielding, Metal Work, Plumbing, Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Agri-Business or its equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution of higher learning.
iii. Certificate in Computer applications skills from a recognized institution.
VACANCY NO. KSI/PSB/EA/6/2021: EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOMENT EDUCATION
(ECDE) TEACHERS (47 POSTS) TERMS: 3-YEAR-CONTRACT (RENEWABLE)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be conversant with the new Competence-based-curriculum (CBC) delivery.
Be an actual classroom teacher/caregiver
Be able to develop and organize play/learning materials.
Be able to interpret childcare services
Be able to guide parents on children’s rights/progress.
Be a community mobilizer and conversant with ECDE matters/activities (sensations)
Be a link between child and parent
Be able to advice on child’s nutritional health needs.
Have adequate knowledge on growth monitoring and evaluation
Must be able to facilitate play/learning activities.
REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen
ii. Be a holder of Diploma or Certificate from a recognized institution.
iii. Be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC)
iv. Must have a teaching work experience of 5 years and above.
v. Be committed to teaching and innovation.
vi. Be a fluent speaker in national languages and catchment area language.
