Endogenic Process

The document describes geologic processes that cause changes to Earth's surface and interior. Exogenic processes like weathering, erosion, deposition and mass wasting operate on the surface and are classified as degradation or aggradation processes. Endogenic processes like deformation, earthquakes and volcanism occur inside Earth due to heat energy and are categorized as either diastrophism involving slow movement or catastrophism involving sudden movement. Plate tectonics can drive both types of endogenic processes.
