Abbreviations :
MR – magic ring sc – single crochet
ch – chain sl st – slip stitch

HDC - half double crochet st, sts - stitch, stitches
(…) – the number in brackets means a total number of stitches in a round
(…)*Х – repeat the number of stitches in brackets Х times
In this pattern we use US terminology.

Attention !
The pattern doesn’t include any crochet and knitting lessons. It’s supposed that
You know basic knit and crochet stitches. The difficulty level of the pattern –
medium. The finished toy measures about 18 cm (7 inches) in case of using the
materials listed.

-4-
Arms :
Make two pieces, stuff as you go and
stuff only a half of each arm.

1round: 6sc in MR
2round: inc into each stitch (12sts)
3-23rounds: 12sc (21 rounds)

Fold the edges together, work 6sc

through both layers.
Fasten off the thread, cut, leaving a
long thread tail for sewing.

Muzzle :
1round: 6sc in MR
2round: inc into each stitch (12sts)
3round: (1sc, inc)*6 (18sts)
4round: 1sc, inc, (2sc, inc)*5, 1 sc
(24sts)
5-6rounds: 24 sc (2 rounds)

Finish crocheting with sl st, fasten off

the thread, cut. You can leave a long
tail for sewing, but it was much easier
for me to sew the muzzle with regular
sewing threads in matching color.

If you are going to use a plastic safety

nose, then insert it into the muzzle.

-5-
Ears :
Make two pieces.

1round: 6sc in MR
2round: inc into each stitch (12sts)
3round: 12sc

Finish the crocheting with sl st, fasten

off the thread; cut, leaving a long
thread tail for sewing.

Legs + body + head :

Stuff firmly as you go.

1round: 6sc in MR
2round: inc into each stitch (12sts)
3round: (1sc, inc)*6 (18sts)
4round: 1sc, inc, (2sc, inc)*5, 1 sc (24sts)
5round: (3sc, inc)*6 (30sts)
6-7rounds: 30sc (2 rounds)

-6-
8round: 6sc, (sc, dec)*6, 6sc (24sts)
9round: 6sc, 6dec, 6sc (18sts)
10round: 7sc, 2dec, 7sc (16sts)
11round: 16sc
12round: (inc, 7sc)*2 (18sts)
13round: 4sc, inc, 8sc, inc, 4sc (20sts)
14round: 20sc

Work several sc additionally (I worked 8sc) + 1 sl st to shift the marker to the leg
side. Finish crocheting, fasten off the thread and cut.

Make the second leg in the same way

as we have made the first one, work
additional sc stitches for even round
as well (I worked 4sc). Place marker to
this point, the beginning of rounds will
be here. Don’t cut the thread and
continue crocheting.
I placed the legs with the toes turned
slightly to each other. You can turn
them at the larger angle working more
single crochet stitches or just put them
straight instead.
-7-
15round: work 10sc, make ch 7 and join it with the first leg into the point, where
we have finished crocheting (into the stitch, which follows sl st). Then work 20sc
across the first leg, 7sc across the chain, 10sc (54sts)

16round: 10sc, inc, 5sc, inc, 10sc, inc, 9sc, inc, 5sc, inc, 9sc, inc (60sts)
17round: 60sc
18round: (9sc, inc)*6 (66sts)
19-28rounds: 66sc (10 rounds)
29round: 10sc, dec, (20sc, dec)*2, 10sc (63sts)

-8-
30-32rounds: 63sc (3 rounds)
33round: (19sc, dec)*3 (60sts)
34-36rounds: 60sc (3 rounds)
37round: (dec, 13sc)*4 (56sts)
38-40rounds: 56sc (3 rounds)
41round: (dec, 12sc)*4 (52sts)

Make stitches between the rounds 41

and 42 in contrasting color. These
stitches will help you to be oriented with
the rounds, when you start making the
face details.

42-53rounds: 52sc (12 rounds)

54round: (dec, 11sc)*4 (48sts)
55round: 48sc
56round: 3sc, dec, (6sc, dec)*5, 3sc
(42sts)
57round: 42sc
58round: (5sc, dec)*6 (36sts)
59round: 2sc, dec, (4sc, dec)*5, 2sc
(30sts)
60round: (3sc, dec)*6 (24sts)
61round: 1sc, dec, (2sc, dec)*5, 1sc
(18sts)
62round: (1sc, dec)*6 (12sts)

Fasten off the thread and cut, leaving a

long thread tail. We will use this tail for
pulling the opening closed.
Weave in the thread end inside of the
head.

-9-
Assembly and details :

Find the muzzle location between the head’s 52 and 43 rounds approximately, fix
with pins. Sew around the muzzle, add the fiberfill while sewing.

Make needle sculptings for the eyes

area ( tap here to watch the
video). At first mark the points, where
the eyes should be located, with pins
(the points 1 and 2 in the photo), they
3 1 2 4
are located between the head’s 51 and
52 rounds, the distance between these
points is 8sts. Mark the points 3 and 4
visually, they are located stepping 1
stitch to the both sides from the points
1 and 2 respectively.

Insert a long needle threaded with a strong thread into the toy back and pull it out
from the point 1. Then reinsert the needle into the point 3 and pull out from the
back side. Make a needle sculpting for the second eye in the same way. The
needle should be always inserted and pulled out from the same point on the back
side. Pull both the thread ends and tie a knot, weave in the thread ends inside of
the toy, spread the stitches using a needle.

- 10 -
Sew the eyes-beads to the points,
where we have made the needle
sculptings. Embroider the mouth, the
eyebrows.
Fix the ears at the head to the
necessary points, sew them between
the rounds 58 and 54 approximately.
Sew the arms between the rounds 39
and 40 symmetrically at the body sides.
Paint the cheeks with a blusher or hard
pastels. Comb the bear slightly using a
pet slicker.

- 11 -
- 12 -
Crochet snood scarf :
Make ch 15 + 1 turning ch. Start crocheting from the second ch from the hook,
work in turning rows.

1-40rows: work 15 HDC into back loops only, 1 turning ch (work the last stitch in
every row into both loops to avoid forming holes).

Sew the snood edges with slip stitches, weave in the thread end inside. Decorate
the snood scarf with a brooch or with a button.

Knitted scarf :
Cast on 12 stitches with knitting
needles and knit 75cm (29.5 inches) or
other length needed in stockinette
stitch.

Bind off the stitches knitwise, weave in

the thread ends left.
