PROJECT TITLE
To investigate most popular brand shoes worn by students at Immaculate Conception High

School.

1
INTRODUCTION
Immaculate Conception High School has approximately 2,000 girls who attend every

year and because brown shoes specifically are a part of the school uniform each student owns

a pair of these school shoes. With Immaculate Conception High being an all-girls institution,

trends and preferences are sometimes set and the „Band-wagon Effect‟ occurs where

student‟s purchase identical or similar shoes. An example of this is during the “Sketchers”

fad, when almost every student owned and wore a pair of school shoes from this specific

brand only.

However, as of recent, students seem to be branching out into different brands

and purchasing whole new different styles of brown shoes. Students have now become more

expressive with their shoe selection. They have been more comfortable and creative with the

shoes they choose to wear to school. A key difference that can be noticed among them is the

variety of brands of shoes, each with their own unique design, texture, and style, all in

various shades of brown.

The aim of this School-Based Assessment is to investigate what are the most worn

brands for school shoes, current most popular brand at Immaculate Conception High School

and why did students choose the brand selected.

2
METHODOLOGY

A total of forty-four (44) questionnaires were issued to students in at Immaculate

Conception High. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the questionnaires were handed out via

the social media app “WhatsApp”.

A questionnaire was chosen because it was the easiest and most achievable data collection

method, to send and obtain the responses from students, compared to the other options.
