Check the contents against the order and report any discrepancies to us immediately. We cannot recognise claims submitted at_a later date. =Set the machine stand on ite due place and fix ite stability by the rear rest actuated by a hand screw. -Using the screw, displace the hand lever to a posi- tion above the stand plate. -Take the machine head out of its packing, remove the surplus of preservation grease from it and check it Visually. Use the cut-outs provided in the front and rear parts of the machine frame to handle the machine. In some shipments, the covers are partly removed. 990 152 5 TO_SET THE MACHINE To inetallthem, use ‘the drawings comprised in the Catalogue of spare|parts. Using the attached connecting parts 681/24, fix the machine head to the stand plate as schown in the drawing. To gain access to the rear screws, tilt away the machine head in the frame. Insert the oil dish (A) between the resiliet fixation members. 990 152 TO SET THE MACHINE =Set the V-belts on the motor pulley, having first removed its cover. After the loosening of their screws, the motor pulleys can be axially adjusted so es to permit the belt run without collision with the covers or with the table plate. -Before connecting the machine to the mains check whether the pawl(©)fits in the stop motion wheel. If not , let it fit in by adeguately turning the hand wheel). -Having connected the machine to the mains check whether the motor turns in the correct sense(see the drawing). After the main switch has been switched on, the motor can be started at will by the treadle or by the hand lever C2. -The machine should be situated in a plece ensuring that the minimum distances, as specified in the ac- companying drawing, are maintained: | WALL, MACHINE W verosrt TABLE I commUNICATION ROAD WW position OF THE NEXT Soe | ® ® © © | 06 O4 06 06 O4 oO. 02 0 0 09 990 152 7 TO SET THE MACHINE 3 - sarety measures (~ The machine design provides for keeping the valid security and hygienic prescriptions with normal use of machine. The following conditions and reguirements should be adhered to: % «The supply cable, furnished as a part of the machine, has a cross section of 4 x 1 mm an must be protected acgordingly in each phase. Before plugging-in the plug into the socket, make sure | that all switches are off. a The security prescriptions referring to the machine operation in workshops should be adhered to. The mo-= vable lead-in cable should be protected against me- chanical damages. | Avoid removing security devices or machine covers. | Never try to clean the machine or to remove the faults | while the machine ist running. %| Keep the electrical equipment in a good state according to the electrotechnical security prescriptions. % To remove faults, call-in a mechanician or an electro- mechanician. We cannot assume any responsibility for the consequences resulting from non-observance of these instructions. 990 152 8 TO SET THE MACHINE = ORDERING FOR SPARE PARTS Please, specify in. each order: = Name and type of machine = Factory number of machine = Numbers of spare parts as specified in the Spare part catalogue 5 Please, address your remarks about the machine to the producer: MINERVA -.<).0.5c2 Branch Establischment at PROSTEIOV Czechoslovakia Sales Dept. Post Directing No. 796 25 Telephone: 0508/ 2928,2929 Telex: 62595 Telefax: (42) 0508/66522 990 152 © - SERVICING OF MACHINE 4] DESCRIPTION OF MACHINE FUNCTION The starting position of the machine depends on whether the machine is adjusted for cutting before or after stitching. Unless otherwise specified in the order, the machines are suplied from the factory adjusted for cutting before ‘stitching. When adjusted for cutting before stitching, the star- ting (and, at the same time, the end) position of the machine work table lies about 4,5 mm before its rear position. After the machine is started, the plate re~ mains motionless in this position until the sewn work ist gripped by the presser feet and cut by the cutting lever, Then, the cutting lever goes back up, and the plate moves with high speed first to its rear position, and then back to the operator to a position where the actual stitching shall begin. The buttonhole length can be adjusted by means of @ stop situated adjust- ably with respect to a scale. During the high speed movement, the clamping pletes of the presser feet open automatically thus spreading the cutthrough sewn work end ensuring a clean stiiching of the buttonhole. The range of spreading is adjustable. In the place corresponding to the adjusted buttonhole Length, the clutch of the drive shaft is automatically released and the buttonholing with two-thread chain stitch begins. As soon as the buttonhole is completely sewn, the stitching stops in the upper needle position an the plate is displaced with high speed to its ini- tial position. Before the stop, the clamping plates open automatically and release the sewn work. The whole cycle can also be carried out by means of hand crank situated on the left side of the machine, It is, however, necessary to stop it at the moment when the clamping plates have released the sewn work, and then turn the hand wheel so as to restore the initial posi- tion of the stitching ‘mechanism. In the machine adjusted for cutting after stitching, the initial (and, at the same time, the end) position is that of the table rear position. the machine run begins by the movement of the plate towards the opera- tor accompanied by the automatic movement of the ‘presser feet to their clamping position. The buttonhole is cut through only after it is completely sewn, before the automatic release of the presser feet. Use of Machine: The machine is used for semi-automatic stitching of buttonholes [of various lengths and forms, i.e. with or withou eyelet, with taper bar or without bar, with a two-thread chainstitch with one inserted gimp. 990 1 52 10 SERVICING OF MACHINE , @ Switch switch @ Insert Sewn work under the presser feet and start the machine by means of the lever (B).The front stops and the rule for adjusting the distance between two neighbouring buttonholes facilitate their correct positioning ( A 20 ), @8efore machine start, the correctly po- sitioned sewn_work can be fixed by means of the lever). ; @8y depressing and holding _in depressed position the pushoburton during the stitching of the buttonhole, you prevent \————— i the presser feet from releasing the sewn work and obtain the possibility to repeat the releasing the sewn work and obtain the possibility to repeat the stitching of the buttonhole. @The buttonholing can be stopped immediately at any phase of the cycle by means of the treadle or of the hand Yever ©) @8y depressing the lever(E)during a buttonholing cycle, you disconnect the stitching mechanism but do not affect the table movement which goes on up to the cycle completion.
