The September outing was a small, but fun outing. It had a little pavilion

Westmoreland Fayette Council, Boy Scouts of was a river. We learned about safety in the water and bait to use while
America - http://www.wfbsa.org/ fishing. In the river we went fishing for a little bit of time, but sadly had no
luck. In the river there was lots of crawfish also. Some scouts went

swimming in the lake as well, and they said it was cold however. We also

America refrigerator. It was quite an interesting site. For dinner on Saturday we had
https://www.facebook.com/WestmorelandFayette the famous “barbecue spaghetti”, and it indeed lives up to what I heard

about it from the other scouts. Packing up was probably the worst part of the
Bushy Run District, Boy Scouts of America outing over all. It rained hard Saturday night and Sunday morning, so
https://www.facebook.com/bushyrunBSA/ everything was cold and wet. Packing up was not fun in such conditions.
Overall however it was a great outing, and I was happy I went.

Troop 284 has another Eagle Scout
Tommy K. has completed his Eagle project
and passed his Eagle Board of Review this
month. For his Eagle Project Tommy chose to
help the “All But Furgotten” animal rescue
league build an agility course/play area for the
pets. With the help of family, friends and scouts
Tommy built the pictured course at his home and
then transported it to the
final location for reassembly.
Please help congratulate
Tommy on his
accomplishment.

Court of Honor
By Zach M.
The troop’s Court of Honor was on September 23rd at Oak Hollow Park. The
weather was nice to us and so was the temperature. Beforehand the scouts worked hard
on building a gateway that looked very nice at the Court of Honor. AJ and I lead the
Court of Honor with help from the entire troop. Our color guard presented the colors
with a representative from each patrol in the color guard. David W. H. led us in a nice
prayer. We earned a lot of merit badges that we were able to award. The troop was
happy to welcome new scouts in during the Court of Honor. We were recognized for
our service hours. The troop was also able to talk about our recent events such as the
50-Miler and Summer Camp. Even though we didn’t have any scouts advance a lot of
scouts are very close to advancing. After the presentation the troop got to eat some very
tasty food. It was a very nice and fun Court of Honor.
