You are a newly appointed headmaster of Auckland Private School (APS). APS currently uses
the school’s old legacy system as its Information System (IS). As a new headmaster, you need to
improve the school’s organization and undertake a massive restructuring of the school’s
Information System. The first prioritized project is to set up a school network known as the
“Auckland Management System” and “Auckland Learning System”.
a) Auckland Management System (AMS):
Auckland Management System (AMS) is a school management system which only used by
teachers, admin and parents. It uses the intranet network for user assess as long as they have their
staff ID and password. The main purpose of the system is to help manage various administrative
tasks such as grading, tracking attendance, admissions, and fee submissions, scheduling classes
and student, faculty, and curriculum management.
b) Auckland Learning System (ALS):
Auckland Learning System (ALS) is a technology to access the educational curriculum that
represents the whole or part of the applied educational paradigm, based on the use
of electronic means and devices as improved tools for teaching, communication, and interaction
between students, teachers and parents.
Based on your research, you are required to fulfill these requirements:

A. ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS
As part of a team (maximum of four (4) individuals per group), a single report must be
submitted to senior management. The report should be a formally written document, the
contents of which should not exceed 3,500 words (excluding abstracts, tables, appendices,
etc).
B. REQUIRED SECTIONS:

i. Justify which TWO (2) issues to be address first. (Group component)5 issues..
j. Conclusion for both group and individual

I. Marking Criteria
The assignment will contribute 50% towards the in-course assessment, as mentioned on the
Student Assessment & Information Sheet (SAIS). The document must contain the marking
grid (work breakdown structure) as per the sample shown below, which should be printed
next to the cover page. Any document that does not contain the marking grid will forfeit the
entire 10% marks and will be allocated 0 marks for this section!
Distinction
Demonstrated comprehensive research with detailed evidence. High level of analysis
performed, exceptional and thorough knowledge and understanding displayed with regard
to application. This includes analysis and evaluation of facts followed by results of
evaluation. Documentation presented in a professional manner, following proper
sequencing and flow. Displayed evidence of critical appraisal. Correctly listing in-text
citations and references.
Credit
Adequate research conducted with fair detail of evidence presented. Moderate level of
understanding, analysis and knowledge displayed. Some level of relevance included in
terms of application. Moderate level of analysis and evaluation of facts followed by
results comparison. Good level of documentation presented. Some level of reflection was
evident in the documentation. Moderate level of listing citation and references.

Individual Components
Oral presentation: This involves confidence, presentation skill and knowledge of the
facts presented.
Report content: This includes the relevance, complete, accuracy, organized, meaningful,
up-to-date and coherence of the facts included
Group Components
Documentation: This includes the cover page, table of content, abstract, introduction,
conclusion, page numbering and headings, level of language proficiency and; proper
sequencing and flow of facts in the report.
Diagrams and Illustrations: This includes any diagrams, charts and pictures used as
supporting facts in the report.
Analysis and Critical discussion: This includes analysis and evaluation of facts by
providing relevant content of the report.
Research and Referencing: This includes proper use of citation and referencing;
following the Harvard Referencing System for all facts and diagrams used and evidence
of research and reading.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): This involves the leadership and teamwork
practised within the group.
Interface / Prototype Design: The design will be marked based on practicality,
originality, creativity, and innovation. Do not exceed 15 pages / forms.
Please take note that Plagiarism is a serious offence and will be treated strictly as per rules and
regulations of APIIT.
E. MARKING BREAKDOWN
