1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this Method Statement is to ensure a detailed control of the partial insulation
on hot pipping insulation service as requested by TOYO construction team.

2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1 The Quality Manager shall be responsible for ensuring the correct applications of this
Method Statement. And the QC Inspector shall be responsible for all the inspection and
testing works, the preparation of documents, and for maintaining all records.

2.2 The Site In charge shall be responsible to the Area Manager for the overall
implementation of this Method Statement. And ensure the safe work site environment
conditions.

2.3 The Supervisor shall be responsible to the Site In-charge for the overall implementation
of this Method Statement. Supervisor shall carry out a toolbox talk

detailing any safety requirements and pertinent points of the specification relating to the
work to be done.

2.4 The safety supervisor shall be responsible for ensuring the client safety requirements
and ensure the KAEFER employees are complies.

3.1 MATERIAL DELIVERY AND STORAGE

3.1.1 Insulation materials shall be preventing from damage and harmful temperature
extremes shall be protected from time of delivery until weather protection is
applied.

3.1.2 Temporary shade shall be used during working hours with the materials being
kept off the ground to prevent damage from drainage rain and condensation.

3.1.3 Keep insulation materials in manufacture bag / box and cover sheet during
transportation and before installation.

3.1.4 Adhesives and sealant which require special storage conditions as


recommended by the manufacturer shall be stored in air-conditionedmrde5

3.1.5 sea containers.

3.1.6 Insulation material from storage shall be applied at the same day and no
unprotected insulation shall remain on the job site overnight.

3.1.7 Temporary weather protection shall be applied to each day’s work. Protected by
polyethylene sheeting wrapped 360 degrees around the insulated pipe or vessel
with overlap in a water shed position where possible.

3.1.8 Insulation which becomes wet due to lack of, or inadequate weather protection
either temporary or permanent, shall be removed and replaced with dry
insulation. Wet insulation shall be discarded and not reused.

4.0 APPLICATION OF HOT INSULATION PARTIAL (EXCLUDING WELD JOINTS)

4.1 Ensure the item to be insulated is released for insulation has had all the previous works
including touch up painting completed and is in a fit state dry and clean to commence
the insulation work except the welded area.

4.2 It shall be the responsibility of the Supervisor to ensure the materials are applied in the
correct order of layering and all the securements are applied correctly.

4.3 Due to immediate climate changes and sudden rain the insulation team shall always be
prepared and placed the temporary weather protection materials at workplace for immediate
action

4.4 The materials shall be applied in the following order and shall conform to the details
shown on the relevant KAEFER Typical insulation detail drawings and will be monitored
by the Quality Inspectors.

4.5 Refer to Hot insulation specification (PTS 151301).

5.0 PIPE WORK APPLICATION PARTIAL (EXCLUDING WELD JOINTS)

5.1 Pipe Section shall be applied as per the agreed specification.

5.1.1 Insulation application shall be excluding weld joints.

5.1.2 All the insulation termination shall be covered by clear Polyethylene sheeting and
secure with Masking tape at both ends.

5.1.3 All Unit in = mm.
