Content Standard

 The salient features of the arts of South, West, and Central Asia by showing the
relationship of the elements of art and processes among culturally diverse communities
in the region.

Performance Standard

 The learner create artworks showing the characteristic elements of the arts of South,
West, and Central Asia.

Learner Competency

 Analyzes elements and principles of art in the production of arts and crafts inspired by
the culture of South Asia, West Asia, and Central Asia. A8EL-lllb-1
I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students should:
a. Reflects the mood, idea or message from the selected artifacts and art objects.
b. Recognize the different artforms of South, West and Central asia.
c. Create arts and crafts that can be assembled with local materials guided by local
traditions.
II. Subject Matter
A. Topic: Asian Arts
B. Sub-topic: Arts and Crafts in South Asia, West Asia, and Central Asia (India)
C. Materials: Speaker, laptop, pictures, printed materials, projector
D. Reference: Learners Material for Arts 8 (pp. 304-306)
III. Procedure

Because our country is currently experiencing the


pandemic, may I remind everyone that before taking a
seat, pick up your trash, wear your facemasks properly (Students will now take their seats)
and maintain the social distancing.

Before we start our discussion, let us check our

Activity 1: Diwali Mobile

Let's imagine that we are from India and are about to


take part in the Diwali celebration. The place of
celebration is fully lighted with diya. Everyone is ask to
hold a diya to make the places look festive and brighter.
Here is how to make diya mobile.

Materials:

 Yellow textures paper or pages of magazine


 Textured paper in a bright color
 Gold cord
 Gold glitter glue
 String
 Scissors
 Puncher

1. Cut out a flame shape from yellow paper and a diya


shape from the other paper.

Make a hole at the bottom of the flame and another in


rhe middle of the diya.

3. Tie them together with gold cord

4. Make a hole at the top of the flame and tie some gold
cord for hanging.

5. With glitter glue or a gold pen, write "Happy on the


flame and "Diwali" on the diya.
