1. Do you believe that the history of dance affects our culture and traditions? Why do you
say so?
Yes, I believe that the history of dance affects our culture and traditions; it expresses the national or
tribal loyalty and power in the country. It also expresses how we communicate with the spirits, so called
“religious ritual”. Dance (and other art forms like music) reflects the culture and traditions, it expresses
something which is living in the culture, but at the same time affects it. It also affects our culture because there
is what we called “an art evolution”. The dance from the past may effect in present by means of revising it and
make it a trend by each generation.
2. In your own word, define what is dance?
For me, Dancing can be an ideal way to stay fit for people of all ages, shapes, and sizes. It is
considered a wonderful form of exercise. Dance is a way of expressing our feelings and emotions; you can have
fun through dancing and by that you can feel better. Sometimes when I’m bored I just watch dance videos and
after that I will execute it. Dance can keeps us healthy, it helps you strengthen bones and lubricate joints. It also
reduces stress and blood pressure.
3. Can you give example of one dance history and explain what is all about it?
Culture is the ideas, customs and social behavior of a particular society. Folk art forms are the methods
through which these ideas and customs are kept alive. It is also the method through which the children become
a part of that culture by inculcating those ideas and customs, through songs and dance.
Folk Dances should not be practiced just for the sake of safeguarding our rich cultural heritage.
Folk Dance is not just reminiscence of the past, but acts as a passage connecting the past and the future. The
differences of other country to our country help to know the different ideas of other countries. Folk dance tells
us what personalities we have in other countries. Folk dance is one of the most important things in our tradition,
because it helps the traditional way to improve and promote the country development of Folk dance. It helps a
lot to enhance the characteristic of Folk dance.

Dance
Elements
Body This dance video consist both of the symmetrical and asymmetrical body
movements. We all know that we can repeat our dance movements, so as I’ve observed,
the dancers repeat their movements but mostly used in different moves.
The video that I have watched earlier used a faster dance steps, what we call hip
hop dance. Lacking, buoying, popping, breaking, new styles are the steps that they
Action executed in the video. I also observed their facial movements, gestures and locomotors
are executed.
In the video, the members consist of 13 members. The relationship by each other
are good because you can see the direction, size, level and focus by each of the
Space member. Also it is nice to watch this kind of dance video because of their large
number of members.
Time Synchronization with the members is good to be seen, the beats of the music are
suitable to the dance steps of the performers. The timing of their steps is also smooth
and appropriate.
Energy This kind of dance video is hip hop so basically, the performers consume a lot of
energy to execute along the beats. The dancers show their best to perform. In the video,
the dancers gave their foremost steps especially in foot works. Attacks, flows qualities
and the control of the weight are also shown.
