Introduction
The present work is about solving application exercises. Is based on the use of the verb to be,
which is one of the most used verbs in the English language. But there is no rule to know when it
means to be and when to be. It is necessary to understand the meaning of the message expressed
as a whole. the verb to be is classified as an irregular verb, since it does not follow the rules of
formation of the simple past and past participle. in the simple present tense, the inflections of the
verb to be, é, are, and am
Are objectives of the work:
General objective: Understand the conjugation of the verb to be.
Specific objective:
Solve exercises on the conjugation of the verb ser;
The work is organized in pages, where the proposed activities were discussed in detail.
It is structured as follows: introduction, development, conclusion and bibliographic references.
The research method used in this work was the bibliographic review, carrying out a search on the
Google Scholar website, Digital Library of several universities and in books in the area specifies
knowledge about the inflection of the verb To be.

Hello, my name is Mario. I am from Manica. I am 35 years old. I am doing my first year at UCM,
distance education.
Let me tell you about my family. My grandfather’s name is Mahoco. He lives in Manica with my
grandmother Graça. My father’s name is Pedro and he comes from Manica. My mother is

Monica, she comes from Beira. My father is a driver and my mother is a nurse. I have got three
brothers and two sisters-Tom, Mauro,Stivan,Zainabo and Zaida. My elder brother Tom is married
and lives in Harare, Zimbabwe. He is a pilot and works for the Zimbabwean Airlines. His wife is
my sister-in-law Farai. They have two children-Themba and Laura. They are my nephews.
My sister Zainabo is a doctor. She lives and works in Maputo. She is married and has two
children- naison and Odete. Her husband’s name is Edson. My sister Zaida is still studying.

Conclusion
In order to work can be concluded that verb to be is certainly the most commonly used verb in the
English language and also the most important. It is used as the main verb and as an auxiliary and
is irregular in the past and in the present. Overall, the verb to be can appear alone, but in most
cases they will accompany other verbs in the composite verbal times. But let's go first to the
basics, the conjugation of to be verb. The verb to be at present is mainly used to refer to
something true in the present or to give basic information.
The forms of the verb in the present are am, is, are. The verb to be in the past is used to speak of
true information, facts or data that occurred in the past. The verb takes the form of Was and
Were, depending on the personal pronoun used. The verb to be in the future uses the way will be
and serves to speak of something that will be or will be in the future.
This work was very important for the improvement of reseach skills, selection and organization
of academic information.
