PMC-108-Providing water supplies in hilly areas

Project scope overview- To provide water supply in hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh by
water supply organization of Himachal from the source to households by 75 HP motor
pump.
Estimated Dates- 12 February 2022 to 10 September 2022

Business case-

 To provide the clean water to remote areas


 To provide clean water at doorsteps of house holds
 To generate revenue for the government
 Laying the water pipeline from water source to households by using 75 HP
motor pump

Background-

There is no continuous water supply in the hilly area of Himachal Pradesh. To


remove the scarcity of water in that area government has decided to lay a
pipeline from water source to their household buy laying underground pipes and
to provide 24-hour clean water to the people of that area.
Milestones-

Milestones Time duration


 Identify the areas from where  15 Days
pipeline will pass.
 Identify the amount of raw  10 Days
materials and number of
equipment’s and labour needed.
 Choose the contactor and other  10 Days
supervisors which are needed.
 Start the work of laying the  3 Months
pipelines by digging the holes from
water source to households  2 Months
 Start laying the larger pipes from
source to the locality  1 Month
 Start laying the smaller pipes from
locality to doorstep  1 Month
 Start laying the meter pipes from
doorsteps to houses  1 Month
 Start the supply of water

Success criteria-

 To provide the clean water supply to the remote area at minimal cost and
water should be available 24 hours.
 To generate some revenue for government by charging some amount for
water.
