The Youth for Environment in Schools-Organization (YES-O) is a school-based co-curricular
organization established to serve as a significant venue for pupils' actions and movements towards safeguarding,
protecting, and conserving the environment.

We, YES-O adviser, and Co-adviser, together with all science teachers, we appoint young talented

environment.
We conducted our School based election last October 18, 2021 followed by district election on October 21,
2021 where Olea National High School President Giniel Jun Reciles won as Protocol Officer in District Level.
Afterwards, we immediately planned on the execution of the mandated activities of YES-O organization

-Officer In Charge
For few months, YES-O Officers and Science teachers of Olea National High School conduct a meeting
about the activity. We decided that all YES-O Officers of Olea National High School will plant a tree on their
own backyards (Tree Planting) As a President of YES-O Organization, I ask all my co-officers to plant different
trees in their backyards and took a picture of it for documentation. Every day, I always remind them to water
their plant trees to grow. After few months, I ask them again to take a picture. Fortunately, it does. I collected
all pictures for the Before-After documentation.
To conclude, we can say that trees are very important and beneficial for every life form on earth. Without them,
the survival of life on earth will become difficult and after some time every species starts to die because of lack
of oxygen on the planet. So I learned from the activity that planting a trees is a big help to our environment.
Environmental Information and Educational Advocacy (E-IEA)
Sarah Macaraeg (Secretary) and Maclary Soriano (Treasurer)
-Officer In Charge
It is a duty and responsibility of every individual to be inform on how to properly take care our environment and
it is a mission to spread and convey the message to other youth and entities. The OLEA YES-O aims to help our
environment by informing the people of our current situation in environment and possible solutions and
intervention to help lessen the destruction of our nature and how to help it recovers
With this mindset, the YES-O planned to make our learners to make an educational posters on current situation
of our nature and also it aims convey on how are we as a citizen help mother nature to recover from our own
hands.
The task is to draw a informative poster and post it on social media platforms to serve as inspiration/motivation
and realization on actual status of our nature.
Here are some of the many creative outputs from the said activity.
Conservation of Resources
a. Water Conservation
b. Biodiversity Conservation
c. Power Supply Conservation
Janice Pales (Vice President)
-Officer In Charge
In using resources, people tend not to fulfill their duty in conserving these for current and future
generations. The absence of knowledge about conservation of resources makes it difficult to maintain and
control the availability of resources.
Therefore, the YES-O (Youth for Environment in School Organization) is to the rescue to solve this type
of problem by providing eco-friendly activities as follows; Greening Program, Environmental Information and
Education Advocacy, Conservation of Resources, Clean Up Drives , and Ecological Solid Waste Management.
YES-O aims for protection of learner's health, safety and wellbeing ; Protect and conserve the environment
through establishing learner support system that shall facilitate the provision of psychological support services
and safety measures: and remediate and enhance programs for all type of learners.
The learners or the involved participants for this 'conservation activity' were told to make an informative
video containing the informations/ideas about the three dimensions of conservation such as ;
a.) water conservation,
b.) biodiversity conservation ,and
c.)power supply conservation.
There, they are able to share their knowledge about conservation of resources, give personal opinions on how to
manage it correctly, and also giving or recommending such activities that are helpful and sustainable for the
environment. They perform it using materials that are readily available to their homes, these proves that it's not
costly to care about our environment.
It is truly a great scenery, witnessing young learners being aware of their environment and inspire other
people to do such amazing things for the sake of our Mother Earth .
Again, we can avoid the minimizing of our resources if we know how to conserve it properly.
Here are some screenshots of participant’s informative video on Conservation of Resources.
Clean Up Drives
Mary Divine Cortezano (Public Information Officer)
-Officer In Charge
The Clean-Up Drive aims to promote Environmental Protection to boost the existing initiatives relative
to community assistance and development programs. Furthermore, it offers a cleaner, safer and friendlier place
to work for the police and the members of the community.
We, The YES-O officers planned to conduct Clean Up drives in every students’ households. Particularly
in Grade 9 levels. To further educate our fellow grade 9 students, we instructed them to post their efforts in
cleaning their backyards to serve as example and motivation.
We also made them document their contribution to clean our environment by taking up a picture before
the activity and after the activity.
Here are some examples from participant’s effort to help our nature recover and sustain its beauty.
a
Ecological solid Waste Management
Jane Marian Ramos (Auditor) and Erlyn Lhei Calaus
- Officer In Charge
Ecological Solid Waste Management refers to the systematic administration of activities which
provide for segregation at source, segregated transportation, storage, transfer, processing, treatment, and
disposal of solid waste and all other waste management activities which do not harm the environment.
The YES-O officers is making sure that every student knows how to segregate waste properly. With
this, all learners especially from grade 8 level demonstrate their knowledge thru making 3 segregations in their
homes. We instructed them to document their effort to minimize waste and properly segregate. We also asked
them to post their efforts in their social media platforms to serve as inspiration and motivation to their fellow
learners and friends. This small act of care and kindness to mother earth is truly a step towards a better and
healthy earth.
Here are some of many participants’ outputs in making sure that the earth stays clean and green.
