POULTRY
- term for all domesticated birds rendering economic service to man
Turkey - a large North American gallinaceous bird (Meleagris gallopavo) that
is domesticated in most parts of the world.
Duck - bird that lives by water and has webbed feet (= feet with skin between
the toes), a short neck, and a large bill.
Chicken - a domestic fowl kept for its eggs or meat, especially a young one.
Pigeon - Columbidae is a bird family consisting of pigeons and doves. It
is the only family in the order Columbiformes. These are stout-bodied birds
with short necks and short slender bills that in some species feature fleshy
ceres. They primarily feed on seeds, fruits, and plants
SWINE
The pig, often called swine, hog, or domestic pig when distinguishing
from other members of the genus Sus, is an omnivorous, domesticated, even-
toed, hoofed mammal. It is variously considered a subspecies of Sus scrofa or a
distinct species.
Shote/shoat – a young pig, especially one which is newly weaned.
Barrow - is a male pig that has been castrated or rendered incapable of
reproducing before he reaches sexual maturity.
Gilt - young adult female pigs that have not yet produced a litter of piglets
Stag - is a male pig, castrated when young, but allowed to grow until a weight
of up to 700 pounds (315 kg) is achieved before slaughter.
Sire - The boar or father of an animal
Sow/Dam - adult female pigs that have farrowed one or more litter.

CATTLE
are large, domesticated, cloven-hoofed herbivores.
Oxen - commonly castrated adult male cattle trained and use as a draft
animal
Steer - also called bullock, young neutered male cattle primarily raised
for beef.
Bull – an uncastrated male bovine animal used especially in breeding
Cow – a fully grown female cattle kept to produce milk or beef.
Heifer - a female that has not had any offspring. The term usually refers to
immature females
HORSES
- The horse is a domesticated, odd-toed, hoofed mammal. It belongs to the
taxonomic family Equidae and is one of two extant subspecies of Equus
ferus.
Mare - an adult female horse or other equine
Stallion - is a male horse that has not been gelded
Broodmare – female horse used for breeding purposes.
Stag - refers to a male horse that was gelded after he has reached the age of
maturity, has been used for breeding before he was gelded or a gelding (no
matter his age at the time of gelding) who has stallion like behavior.
Foal – a young horse below 1 year old.

CARABAO
is a swamp type domestic Water Buffalo (Bubalus Bubalis) found in the
Philippines and Guam
Carabull - sexually mature uncastrated male carabao usually kept for
breeding.
Caraheifer - sexually mature female carabao that has not yet given birth.
CARACALF - young carabao of either gender
Caracow - mature female carabao
