Tutorial Accomplishment Report

1) A tutorial program was implemented to help academically disadvantaged Grade 8 students in 5 barangays. 2) Teachers assessed the students and grouped them by subjects needing help. Small group tutoring used students' first language to improve understanding. 3) Based on progress reports, students' academic performance and grades improved from the 1st to 3rd quarter, showing the program successfully achieved its goal of increasing performance.

B. NARRATIVE REPORT The program has


TECHNICAL started on the 3rd week of

November. The proponents first distributed the

the respective Barangay
Captain of the 5 beneficiary Barangays of the
program. After a positive response from
barangay, the program was implemented.

The sole purpose of this tutorial is to increase


the academic performance of the selected
“lagging” Grade 8 learners, thus, on the onset of
the program, the proponents assessed the
academic standing of these selected learners.

After the assessment, the actual program has


started. The proponents went to the designated
areas in the Barangay where they conducted the
tutorial. The following are the methodology and
strategies used by the proponents to carry out
the goals of the tutorial:

a. General Program. The proponents


start with a general program;
orientation of each teacher-tutee,
warm-up exercise, “kamustahan”, recall
of the previous lesson and stating the
goals of the program. This is a way of
capturing the learners’ attention so that
they are kept on tract throughout the
tutorial session.

b. Small Group. The learners are grouped


according to the subject area/s that
they find most difficult and needed
help. There is at least one teacher-tutee

“Helping Academically Disadvantaged


Learners through Grade 8 Tutorial Program”
has carried out its purpose of increasing the
academic performance of the selected “lagging
students” in grade 8. The series of methodologies
employed in this program has successfully
helped in attaining its very goal.
C. ASSESSMENT/
EVALUATION Based on the progress report presented, there is
a significant change on the academic
performance of the beneficiaries of the program
as seen in their grades from the 1 st to 3rd quarter
of the school year.

See attached progress report.

D. IMAPACT OR The “Helping Academically Disadvantaged


SIGNIFICANCE TO THE Learners through Grade 8 Tutorial Program”
BENEFICIARIES
helped in a significant improvement of the
academic of the learners because it has
employed a methodology that is specially
designed for the learners’ academic background.
It also utilized students’ 1st language as a tool in
teaching which is believed to have a great impact
on students’ performance.

This tutorial program also helped improved


students understanding of concepts specially
that they are in Distance Learning Modality.

As seen in the progress report, the efforts of the


proponents to sustain and improve the teaching-
learning process even in pandemic has not put
