1 Lesson Plan in Grade 8 Tle Electricit

The lesson plan teaches students about electric circuits. It includes identifying electric circuit parts and their functions, assembling an actual circuit, and understanding the importance of each component. Students will learn that an electric circuit requires a source, conducting path, load, and controlling device. They will assemble a circuit using a dry cell and DC motor, and answer questions to demonstrate their understanding of circuits.

Lesson Plan in GRADE 8 TLE ELECTRICITY

A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates an understanding of the concepts and underlying
principles in performing electrical circuit installation.

B. Performance Standard
The learners perform actual electrical circuit installation based on given tasks.

C. Learning Competency (Write the LC code for each)

Analyse electrical components and materials based on electrical signs, symbols
and data.
TLE_IAEI7/8ID-0e-1

I. Objectives
At the end of the period, the students should be able to:
a. Identify the parts and functions of electric circuit;
b. Connect/assemble the actual electric circuit; and
c. Value the importance of each essential parts of electric circuit

II. Subject Matter

A. Topic: Electric Circuit

B. Values: Appreciation, patience, hard work, cooperation
C. Skills: Assembling electrical circuit

III. Procedure

A. Preliminary Activities

a. Prayer
b. Checking of Attendance
c. Review of the Past Lessons Ask the class about the previous lesson.
 What have you learned on our
previous topic about electricity?
 What are the sources of
electricity?

d. Motivation (Video Presentation) Show a video of person doing a simple

circuit.
Process Questions:
1. What do you observe in the video?
2. Would you like to know how did they
connect it?
3. What do you think is our lesson for
today?
B. Activity. Group report
Divide the class into 4 groups. Each group will be given a topic about
electric circuit and they will discuss it.
1. Source
2. Conducting Path/Conductor
3. Load
4. Controlling Device

C. Analysis

Lesson Proper (ICT Integration/Collaborative Learning/Actual

demonstration)

Through the use of power point presentation the teacher will introduce the
lesson about Electric Circuit and demonstrate how to connect the parts of a
circuit. The teacher will ask the following Questions during the discussion:

1. What is an electric circuit?

2. What are the parts of an electric circuit?
3. Which part is the Source?
4. Which part is the conducting path/conductor?
5. Which part is the controlling device?
6. Which part is the Load?
7. What are the 4 essential parts of an electric circuit?

D. Abstraction

The teacher will give instructions for the next activity to strengthen the
mastery of the lesson.

Using the same group.

The teacher will give a question and the group will answer it by sharing
their understanding about the lesson.
1. How do you define an electric circuit in your own words?
2. What is the function of the Source?
3. What is the function of the Conducting path/ conductor?
4. What is the function of the Controlling device?
5. What is the function of the Load?
6. How important are the parts of the electric circuit?

E. Application (Performance Task)

Provided with materials, Let the students assemble the four (4) essential
parts of electric circuit with a DC motor as the Load and 1.5v AA dry cell as the
Source.

The performance will be judged using the following criteria

F. Assessment (Multiple Choices)

Direction: Write the letter of the correct answer.

1. It is where the electrons flow from Source to Load.

a. switch b. load
c. wire d. source

2.It provides electrical pressure in the circuit.

a. load b. source
c. switch d. wire
3.It allows individual to regulate electricity.
a. source b. load

4.It converts electricity into another form of energy.

a. wire b. load
c. source d. switch

5.It is a complete path where electricity flows.

a. conductor b. load
c. wire d. circuit

G. Assignment (10 pts)

In a ¼ sheet of pad paper, explain what will happen to the electric circuit if
the electricity will return to the source without passing the load.
