A. Theme
Health Innovation and Creative Economy.
B. Foreword
In order to build a scientific and critical attitude of the students
towards COVID-19 pandemic which is still occuring, Medical
Faculty Sebelas Maret University holds an International Essay
Competition entitled "Health Innovation and Creative Economy".
In the last two years, medical innovations and numerous efforts
from public healthcare try to find a solution in dealing with the
pandemic and support the improvement of the community's
economy. Thus, the purpose of this event is to strengthen students'
critical thinking skills, reflect on progressive knowledge and
existing problems, and express creative and applicable ideas which
will be applied in the innovative technology in the Health sector
which also can support the creative economy.

1.Undergraduate and graduate student

D. Timeline
1. Submission deadline : March 10th 2022
2. Finalist notification : May 19th 2022
3. Award notification : May 31st 2022
E. Prizes
1.1st Winner : 350 USD + Gold Medal + Certificate
2. 2nd Winner : 210 USD + Silver medal + Certificate
3. 3rd Winner : 105 USD + Bronze Medal + Certificate
F. Author Guidelines
1. Only original essay will be considered. Any form of plagiarism
will result in disqualification
2. Types of essay: Academic/Argumentative/Expository Essay
3. Length of essay: 2000-3000 words
4. Language: English
5. Essay’s format :
Typed on a A4 size electronic page
Font size shall be 12 points font Times New Roman, 1.5 interlinear space
Margins of 2.54 on top, bottom, and both sides
Pictures can be included
Please cite sources within the body of your essay (in-text citations) and at
the end of the paper in your references section
The author should use a reference management tool such as Mendeley,
EndNote, ect with APA 6th style
Ensure that citations used are as contemporary as possible and delete older
literature citations (<10 years) unless these are central to your study.
References should avoid the use of secondary citations (if necessary use max
25% of citations).

G. Judging Criteria
1.The assessment of essay will be done in two steps:
2. Stage 1 : selection process of all submitted essays
Stage 2 : selected finalist will be contacted and asked to
present their essay via Zoom meeting on May 31st, 2022
3. Selected finalist in stage 2 will be asked to provide a
student status letter
4. Judging will be completed by a qualified panel/
professional judges and their decisions are final
H. Guidelines for Oral Presentations
1.A presentation is mandatory for selected finalist in stage 2
2. Please join a Zoom meeting through a link provided
by committee and be prompt
3. Performer should take up the majority of the center of the
screen Performer must speak clearly and include the following:
brief introduction, essay presentation, and conclusion.
Presentations must be in English
4. The use of any assisting tools/software (e.g. PPT, whiteboard,
etc) is allowed
5. Maximum duration of the presentation is 10 minutes
6. Please mention any sources used within the body of your essay

ORIGINALITY STATEMENT
“I confirm that the enclosed material is all my own work. I
have not copied my work on any samples or exemplars to
which I have had access. Any work taken from another source
has been appropriately referenced and acknowledged. I fully
understand that any form of plagiarism will result in
